Thirsk Lodge Barns is tucked into the gorgeous North Yorkshire countryside, just two miles from the picturesque town of Thirsk. The venue seamlessly combines modern luxury with romantic, rustic features. Traditional elements such as red brick walls, rounded pillars, and striking beams give the venue warmth and character, while copper-topped bars, large windows overlooking landscaped courtyards, and a romantic wall of fairy lights add a high-end, modern touch.

This exclusive-use wedding venue comprises several connected barns, including the Main Barn, the snug Wheelhouse, the Bar, the Courtyard, and the Dining Room. Therefore, you can enjoy a change of scenery as you move between your ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and then onto the dancing – with no changeover time needed.

Thirsk Lodge Barns offers both indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces.

The majestic Main Barn is licensed for civil ceremonies and can seat up to 140 guests. The barn features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking fields of wildflowers, allowing for an abundance of natural light. A backdrop of fairy lights behind the ceremony table sets the perfect scene for photos, while two large wrought iron hoops suspended from the ceiling create a striking focal point.

For outdoor ceremonies, the courtyard and meadow are available for alfresco vows.

The Bar and Courtyard provide a perfect setting for a drinks reception, rain or shine. The Bar features a modern copper-topped design with exposed beams and a bi-fold wall of windows that opens onto the Courtyard.

The Courtyard, with its 200-year-old Spanish olive tree, has a Mediterranean feel, offering an ideal spot for photos and fresh air.

For the wedding breakfast, guests move to the Dining Room, which can accommodate either round tables or long trestle tables. The Main Barn is transformed into an evening reception space for up to 200 guests, with the option for live music or DJs.

The venue provides a wedding coordinator to assist with the smooth running of the day, ensuring the couple can relax and enjoy their special occasion. For extended bookings, you are welcome to set up the day before your wedding, too.

Thirsk Lodge Barns offers luxurious on-site accommodation, including the honeymoon suite and Laundry Cottage, which features a copper roll-top bath, a separate shower, and a cosy living room with a fireplace.

The Farmhouse can accommodate up to nine guests and includes a contemporary kitchen, a snug with a TV and wood burner, and a light-filled drawing room.

For extended bookings, both the Laundry Cottage and The Farmhouse are included.

From January 2027, couples can also book Gardener’s Cottage, a beautifully restored two-bedroom retreat, sleeping 4 guests, complete with its own private garden, hot tub and sauna, as well as a downstairs Dressing Room, ideal for anyone getting ready on site, featuring large mirrors with the best natural lighting in the house! Perfect for close family, friends or a peaceful stay before or after the celebrations.

Further accommodation is available close-by at Woodhill Grange, a beautiful Georgian farmhouse which sleeps an additional eight guests, with two spacious lounges, a courtyard garden and parking and 35 Kirkgate, a boutique hotel in the centre of Thirsk with eight rooms sleeping 16 guests; when booked exclusively, The Green Room is included, an elegant lounge space, an ideal area for getting hair and makeup ready.

Catering at Thirsk Lodge Barns is run by The Peckish Kitchen, which offers seasonal farm-to-fork feasting. The food offering includes a choice of three canapés, homemade bread and butter, a starter or pudding, and a main course served with up to three sides. Evening food is also provided.

The bar is managed in-house, with a dedicated bar team on-site throughout the day to oversee both bars and provide drinks for the reception, meal, and speeches. Drinks include a glass of fizz or beer per person during the drinks reception, half a bottle of wine per person with the wedding breakfast, a glass of fizz per person for the speeches, and tea and coffee.
