About
Setting

Secluded in the rolling hills of South Devon, The Lost Music Hall is a wedding venue unlike any other. Hidden within a private countryside estate near Totnes, this extraordinary property combines the romance of a bygone era with the freedom and exclusivity of a luxury wedding retreat.

At its heart lies a beautifully restored Victorian music hall, lovingly reimagined as a unique space for gathering, celebrating and creating unforgettable memories. Rich in character and steeped in history, the venue offers an atmosphere that feels both grand and intimate, where every corner reveals another layer of charm and intrigue.

Surrounded by idyllic countryside and far-reaching views, The Lost Music Hall offers a wonderfully secluded setting while remaining easily accessible to guests travelling from across the UK. Whether you’re planning an elegant celebration, a creative gathering, or an entire wedding weekend with family and friends, this remarkable estate offers a backdrop as memorable as the occasion itself.

Ceremony

The Lost Music Hall offers a choice of beautiful spaces for your wedding ceremony, allowing couples to create a celebration that reflects their personalities and vision.

Exchange vows outdoors amidst the peaceful Devon countryside, with nature providing a breathtaking backdrop for your special moment. Alternatively, embrace the venue’s unique heritage and host your ceremony within the music hall itself, where soaring ceilings, period details, and theatrical character create an atmosphere unlike that of any traditional wedding venue.

The flexibility of the estate allows couples to craft a ceremony that feels entirely personal, whether intimate and understated or dramatic and celebratory. For those planning a religious ceremony, several charming churches are nearby before returning to continue the festivities at the estate.

Reception

The iconic music hall provides an unforgettable setting for wedding receptions, effortlessly combining historic grandeur with a sense of celebration and spectacle.

Following your ceremony, guests can enjoy drinks and canapés in the grounds before gathering in the hall for dining, speeches and evening entertainment. The building’s remarkable architecture, atmospheric interiors and rich musical heritage create a setting that requires very little embellishment, allowing the venue’s natural character to shine.

As day turns to evening, The Lost Music Hall truly comes to life. Whether you’re planning live music, dancing, a candlelit feast or a lively party stretching late into the night, the venue provides a wonderfully versatile backdrop for celebrations of every style.

Exclusive use of the estate ensures that your wedding remains entirely private, giving you the freedom to celebrate with family and friends in a setting that feels completely your own.

Accommodation

The Lost Music Hall offers luxurious on-site accommodation, allowing couples and their closest guests to extend celebrations beyond the wedding day itself.

Beautifully designed interiors combine comfort, character and thoughtful touches throughout, creating a welcoming retreat where family and friends can gather before and after the celebrations. The accommodation provides the perfect setting for relaxed mornings, pre-wedding preparations and post-wedding breakfasts shared with loved ones.

By keeping your nearest and dearest together under one roof, The Lost Music Hall transforms a single day into a memorable wedding weekend, giving everyone the opportunity to slow down, reconnect and savour the experience.

Food & Drink

Food and drink are an integral part of the wedding experience at The Lost Music Hall, with the flexibility to create a celebration that reflects your tastes and style.

Whether you envision an elegant wedding breakfast, relaxed sharing feasts, seasonal Devon-inspired menus or informal evening food, the venue offers the freedom to work with experienced catering partners to create a bespoke dining experience.

The estate’s beautiful surroundings provide wonderful opportunities for outdoor drinks receptions and al fresco entertaining, while the music hall itself offers a dramatic and atmospheric setting for dining and celebrations long into the evening.

Sustainability

The Lost Music Hall is a shining example of how historic buildings can be thoughtfully preserved and given a new lease of life.

The careful restoration of this remarkable Victorian music hall has protected an important piece of architectural heritage while creating a unique venue for future generations to enjoy. By celebrating and repurposing an existing building, the estate embraces a more sustainable approach to hospitality and events.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Devon countryside, the venue also encourages guests to connect with the landscape and appreciate the slower pace of rural life.

Getting There

Despite its secluded countryside setting, The Lost Music Hall is easily accessible for guests travelling from across the UK.

Located near Totnes in South Devon, the venue benefits from excellent rail connections, with Totnes station offering direct services to London Paddington and other major cities. The A38 is also nearby, providing convenient road access from Exeter, Plymouth and the wider South West.

For guests travelling from further afield, Exeter Airport is within easy reach, while ample on-site parking makes arrival simple and stress-free.

Once guests pass through the gates, however, they’ll discover a world that feels entirely removed from the everyday, where history, creativity and celebration come together in spectacular fashion.

“

Two weeks after the event, we are still overjoyed by our summer wedding at The Lost Music Hall. The extraordinary venue and its rural setting enabled us to plan a wedding that took our guests on a journey through the Devon countryside, through an elegant mid-century Music Hall, to a characterful cellar for late-night dancing.

It´s such a special hidden slice of Devon, and every corner of it is beautiful. All of the guests commented on how they felt they had been transported to Italy! The owners were so helpful from the lead up to the wedding, to on the day – they went over and beyond to ensure everything ran so smoothly, we can´t thank them enough for all the effort and support they gave us. So many of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to and we truly think that the venue was the main reason for this, it was the most perfect setting for the best day of our lives!
