The beauty of the venue with its countless facets and options speaks for itself! You really feel the love for detail in every corner. What makes the venue even more special are the perfect hosts Jo & Duncan. In these uncertain times they were always there for us with support, advice and the necessary flexibility. During preparations and on the day itself they were very helpful and contributed to a perfect day.

We highly recommend This Must Be The Place / Mas Casamitjana to anyone and would love to host another event there!

We had our wedding at This Must be the Place this Saturday just gone and we honestly couldn’t have wished for anything more. The most incredible team – Jo, Duncan and of course Indy, the brilliant recommendations of “suppliers” who became friends, the most incredible views and they even arranged the weather. What wedding dreams are made of. We can’t thank you enough.. see you in a few years for an anniversary party!

Everything was just wow! The venue is truly beautiful, it’s been renovated perfectly but has kept its authentic feel while having a nice touch of modern. The views were mind-blowing, and we were lucky to have the most perfect sunset during our party. This will forever stay as one of our best memories.

But the best part must be the owners, Jo, Duncan, and their daughter, Indy. They were like wedding superheroes! Right from the get-go, they made us feel like family. The communication was on point, and they were always there to lend a hand or share their expert advice. They put us in contact with the best providers, we couldn’t have asked for better! When the big day arrived, Jo and Duncan were there to help! I really felt them going above and beyond with their support. They were working behind the scenes, making sure everything was flawless. Plus, they were like our personal cheerleaders, keeping us cool and calm throughout the whole thing.

The catering by Caravan Made (their exclusive provider) was out of this world! Our guests couldn’t stop talking about the food and drinks.
But what really touched our hearts was Jo’s open arms and support for our LGBT wedding. It meant the world to us that she embraced our love and made us feel special on our big day. Thanks for spreading the love and being an ally!

So, if you’re on the hunt for a place to say “I do”, this is definitely the place to be! We’re forever grateful to Jo, Duncan and Indy for giving us the wedding of our dreams.

This absolutely is the place for you!

When we came across TMBTP we knew instantly that this was where we were going to get married. Not only is the venue, location and views completely out of this world, but Jo, Duncan and Indy are just incredible people! Planning a wedding abroad would have been a very different experience without them! They are easy going, very professional, kind, supportive and have a wealth of experience. They couldn’t have helped us enough, which made the planning experience far less stressful than we had anticipated! Jo and Duncan supported us with recommendations and with the organisation of our vendors, and were super helpful with the abundance of questions we fired their way! They encouraged us to use the spaces within the venue in whatever way we wished, and helped us to create the vision for our wedding day that we had imagined! We had the most amazing feedback from our guests, with some wanting to plan their own weddings at TMBTP in the future! We honestly cannot recommend them enough!!

The Definition Of A Hidden Gem!

This truly IS the place! This Must Be The Place is the perfect mixture of rustic, quirky, cool and glamorous. An absolute gem hidden in the hills of Catalonia. We booked the venue sight unseen as we felt such a wonderful vibe from Duncan & Jo. We were not to be let down when we arrived the day before the wedding. Pictures cannot possibly do the venue justice. It is perfection. Duncan & Jo are incredible and the local vendors are a dream to work with. It really was the best day of our lives and we could not feel more fortunate about where we decided to hold such a special and memorable occasion. Everything was seamless from start to finish and the recommended suppliers blew us away! Our guests wanted for nothing and the standard of accommodation and design is top class. We wouldn’t change anything for the world! The venue, the owners and the views make this place something extremely special.

Wow! Our wedding day was better than we could have imagined. This Must Be the Place truly is the most perfect venue. Hidden away down a winding, bumpy road, we were a bit unsure, until the road opened and we saw the venue – simply beautiful! Full of rustic charm with a touch of rock glam, it really stood out amongst everything else we’d seen, and we knew it truly was ‘the place’ for us.

We didn’t want a traditional wedding day, and we were encouraged to put whatever personalised touches we wanted.
Jo and Duncan, the owners, are genuine people who clearly love what they do. Every part of our day was seamlessly put together. Apart from turning up, we didn’t need to do a thing! Jo and Duncan have an excellent contact list of suppliers, and we could not have faulted any of them! Caravan Made, their exclusive caterers, are truly something special – the food, drinks and materials were all high quality.
Thank you, Jo and Duncan, for enabling us to have a truly memorable day! It is something we are still reliving, and we would do it again in a heartbeat!

This Must Be The Place was where our dreams came true. We couldn’t have asked for more for a venue: stunning setting, easily accessible from Barcelona, and importantly, the best couple we could have asked for were running it, Jo and Duncan.

We had our wedding ceremony on the paddock, so when we got married on a clear day in June our guests looked out beyond us to the beautiful Pyrenees and the stunning landscape between Mas Casamitjana and the mountains on the horizon. Our caterers set up food stalls and we had a buffet-style meal, and then had our party downstairs in the dance floor area.

Jo and Duncan went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt right at home and the event ran as smoothly as possible. The next day, we invited our guests back for a brunch which was the perfect ending to our wonderful weekend. We are so pleased that This Must Be The Place will always be special to us, and can’t wait to visit again in the future.

When my partner and I were looking for a wedding venue, we wanted a certain something we couldn’t quite put our finger on. As we trekked across Barcelona, hoping from venue to venue, we were buzzing at the thought of our big day. Just when we thought things couldn’t get any more exciting, we arrived at This Must Be The Place. Approach from a winding road off the beaten track, everything suddenly came into view and our jaws dropped.

The word wedding ‘venue’ simply doesn’t do it justice. The beautiful reclaimed barn with its timeless renovations provide a brilliant mix of old and new. Walking around the property we were taken aback by the incredible views, the attention to detail (beautiful mirror balls spotted in multiple locations) and the big spaces giving multiple options on layouts. We opted for an outside ceremony and dinner, moving inside the converted barn for dancing afterwards. It made for the perfect transition as the day progressed. Having family stay on site worked perfectly too. Each bedroom has kept its original features whilst bringing a premium look and feel.

Now this is all well and good, but there is one thing that truly made it so special… Jo and Duncan. They have poured their hearts and souls into making the property what it is today. Their passion, creativity and genuine love for our big day made all the difference. As a gay couple, we can sometimes be reserved in opening up, but Jo and Duncan made us completely at ease for the same-sex ceremony and even entertained our special guest (Drag Queen A’Whora!) whilst friends and family gathered for our big finale. We knew straight away that we had to get married here. We left our first viewing saying to ourselves, ‘this must be it, this must be the one… This Must Be The Place!’

They say it’s the best day of your life. A day you’ll remember forever… and This Must Be The Place provided us with the perfect setting to make these memories. The scenery and location is breath-taking and certainly has a wow factor from the moment it reveals itself as you drive over the hill towards it. ‘This Must Be The Place’ really does sum up this hidden gem… we knew from the moment we stepped foot inside and looked around the property that this was the setting we had both been looking for. With the many options of areas, and freedom to plan your day exactly the way you want to do it (nothing is impossible here!) we were able to be in charge to have a day that reflected us. This Must Be The Place is a truly unique venue and one which will forever be a very special place for us. If we could do it all again we wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you Jo & Duncan for giving us the best day of our lives!

We had a perfect wedding at This Must Be The Place! It was everything we hoped for – you have to see the place in person to appreciate how beautiful it is. We live on the East Coast of the US and wanted to do something different for our wedding, and found Catalonia to be a perfect destination – great food, beautiful scenery, lovely people, and very affordable by US standards. The venue has multiple great locations to hold the ceremony and a beautiful indoor space for the bar and dancing. Overall we had a wonderful experience with this venue and the lovely owners, and would recommend it to anyone! It was an unforgettable weekend!

Words Simply Don’t Do TMBTP Justice!

The first time we (virtually) laid eyes on This Must Be The Place, we knew it was everything we could ever dream of and more. We originally hadn’t considered having a destination wedding but not a single venue even came close and we couldn’t stop thinking about those views, so I guess from that moment we both knew that it truly was THE place.

From our first FaceTime with Jo & Duncan we knew we were in good hands, despite being in a different country and not stepping foot in our wedding venue until literally the day before our big day, at no point did it feel like a risk. They were so helpful every step of the way and we’re so grateful for Jo, Duncan and Jane their wonderful coordinator for helping make our day as special and ‘us’ as it was.

We knew TMBTP was special but no words can describe how incredible it is in the flesh, it surpassed our expectations and our entire day was a complete dream come true. As we approached the venue for the very first time we were both genuinely lost for words. Stunning views, attention to detail and filled to the brim with personality, plus to make things even better, the loveliest team that we couldn’t have done this without.

We’ve had so many of our guests tell us it was the best wedding they’ve been to, and we think that compliment is all down to how amazing TMBTP is! We feel so privileged to have tied the knot in such a beautiful place and over the moon that we took the leap.

Big love to Jo, Duncan, Jane and of course Indy (who assisted in glittering up our guests on the night time), we can’t thank you all enough!

Simply The Best!

We booked TMBTP during COVID travel restrictions after a FaceTime round the property. May seem crazy to some – booking without seeing the venue in person – but Jo & Duncan have truly put together the most epic venue with so many thoughtful details that we thought it was crazy not to book. They were so approachable and warm from the start and we felt so supported throughout the planning process; they were always calm and generous with their emails and questions which removed any stress making the planning genuinely enjoyable (we were booking from London with a lot of international guests travelling to Moia).

The venue and views are of course unparalleled, and there are so many ways to customise your day so every wedding there feels unique. Evidenced by Jo & Duncan referring to different layouts configured by the names of couples themselves. A truly warm gesture.

On the day itself, our guests had the best time and the words “WOW this is the nicest wedding venue I’ve ever been to” were shared throughout the festivities. We had a mix of rain, mist, cloud, full sunshine and a beautiful sunset – and every change in weather was equally beautiful. TMBTP is beyond special and we are so grateful to Jo & Duncan for their kindness, generosity, and impeccable taste that made our wedding so so special. As I’m sure everyone says: this really IS the place.

Where do we start? After visiting what feels like every venue in Barcelona we nearly gave up until somebody recommended TMBTP. We flew back over to visit Jo and Duncan and we were reduced to tears – it is the perfect venue!

We wanted something rustic with lots of character and it is just that. The venue is still modern inside and doesn’t feel dark and stuffy, there’s so many cool features around the venue it’s so unique. You can really make the venue your own but at the same time it’s so beautiful you really can just let the views and the venue speak for itself.

The views are absolutely breathtaking and the perfect backdrop for a ceremony, compete uninterrupted vistas over the Catalan countryside surrounded by wild flowers and the sunset are unforgettable.

Jo and Duncan and Indy also made the day absolutely seamless for us, they are so hands on and are happy to make recommendations and provide you with their honest opinions which we really needed as I can be very indecisive at times! They make the venue and we really felt like we had our friends there on the day and they couldn’t have been any better.

The different areas of the hotel are perfect so you can move around during the day for a change of scene and atmosphere.

I work in luxury travel and I have stayed at some of the best hotels in Europe but I would choose a week here over anywhere! I only wish we could do it all again.

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, we had the most perfect wedding day.

We booked This Must Be The Place to celebrate our wedding on 3rd June 2022, after finding the venue online and speaking with Jo and Duncan, the owners. We got along straight away and knew this was where we wanted to marry.

We originally planned for our wedding to be in 2021, however due to the pandemic we pushed back by a year to 2022. During this stressful time Jo and Duncan were brilliant, and were fully supportive of our change of plans no questions asked.

When we went to visit, Jo and Duncan were on hand to meet with us and our families, and allowed us to take as long as we needed to look around the venue.

Throughout they also helped us manage our suppliers, and information for our guests such as where to eat, stay and other things to do in the area which was really helpful.

Our day went better than we could ever have imagined, we are so glad we found the venue and went ahead despite us living in the UK!

Thank you for being so accommodating and for making our day so special. We hope to be able to visit again some day, as the house and the area are beautiful!

We just can’t thank Jo, Duncan and Indy enough for welcoming us into their beautiful home, This Must Be The Place to celebrate our wedding on 2nd July 2022. We found the venue online and booked after having one video call with Jo. We knew straight away the venue and the owners were right for us.

Seeing the place for the first time is a truly special moment. The hills roll for miles, the house and grounds are beautifully maintained with brilliant plants and flowers all year round. The house is superbly designed, a heady mix of rustic quirky while sympathetic to its surroundings! The house and the people just belong there! The air is clean, the only noise is nature and it smells divine. It really takes some imagination and creativity to make a place so special!

Jo and Duncan are great people, super helpful and good fun. They have laid back personalities but always seem to have their sleeves rolled up doing something! They made us feel so comfortable and relaxed. They were always on hand to help but also allowed us space to enjoy our stay with them. You can tell they absolutely love what they do. They get really involved with the build up and on the day they’re around like helpful friends!

The actual day of the wedding went like a dream. We were just blown away watching and feeling it all unfold and finally coming together so seamlessly and perfectly. Our guests absolutely loved it and have been full of compliments on how special it was. The energy was incredible.

We are so happy we found This Must Be The Place. Our time there will always hold a special place in our hearts. We couldn’t recommend the venue and Jo and Duncan enough. It was just perfect!

The Best Place For The Best Day!!!

5 stars isn’t enough for this amazing venue!! Started with a video call with Jo during COVID and we never looked back since. From seeing it for the first time back in November we knew it would perfect. Duncan and Jo are brilliant and have done such an amazing job with this venue. Also super helpful with any questions leading up to the wedding and during the day itself. It all flowed so smoothly and all the different areas all have their own magical spark to make the venue truly one of a kind. Even when we thought it was going to rain on the day and a marquee had to be put up, it was still perfect, probably even better. Jo and Duncan always have a plan B which is just as good as a plan A. All the accommodation is lovely and has got great little touches throughout and can accommodate a small group of friends/family. All our guests were blown away and have not stopped raving about it since, we wish we could do it all again!!!

Just held our wedding at this incredible venue. It was completely perfect, and I couldn’t recommend it more. From start to finish, Jo and Duncan, who own the venue, couldn’t have been more helpful. They have poured so much love and attention into the venue with so many beautiful thoughtful personal touches everywhere you look. They were available from day 1 to answer every question we had, and they had a list of trusted suppliers which were in keeping with the style and quality of the venue. We actually booked the venue before visiting it and when we finally got to visit it we were even more blown away by the beauty of the place. The whole lead-up to the wedding was smooth and seamless, and Jo and Duncan went out of their way to help us think through every step of the day and even a plan B if the weather wasn’t good. Over the wedding weekend, Jo and Duncan made us feel so at home and feel so relaxed on the day, knowing everything was on hand. I’m really sad the weekend is over, it was for me the happiest day of my life, and so much of that was due to the experience Jo and Duncan and their suppliers created for us. Thank you again! I hope one day we can return for another party!

This Must Be Your Place!

Jo and Duncan are magical people who gave us a wedding that 70-odd people will never forget, and started our married life with a bang[ing party!]. We are so glad we found this place and these people. TMBTP is a truly unique and wonderful place but they have created much more than just a ‘place’ – it is most definitely a vibe. We were looking for European beach weddings and focussed on venues in Barcelona. TMBTP came up which was obviously very different. It was better.

We started with a video call with Jo in September last year and she showed us round the masia. We fell in love with the views, the atmosphere and the sheer style of the place. We lived in East London for years and this place oozes that same cool and possibility – the fact that you have this chic blank canvas and different spaces that they absolutely encourage you to use and make your own for your special day is something quite rare in a wedding venue too. If you are looking for something truly unique and ‘you’, this must be your place! The various suppliers that they have available to recommend and who are full of fantastic ideas and flexibility are also a dream when you are planning a destination wedding.

Special shout out to Sílvia and Yvette at Caravan Made – they are brilliant at what they do; their food is fantastic, their attention to detail is great and their staff are wonderful, friendly and run a very smooth operation – all vital ingredients for your wedding day. Thank you for giving us such a fantastic wedding, we will always be grateful. And we’ll be back for that beer and a game of Pass the Pigs.
