The Setting

The Great House is located in the village of Sonning-on-Thames, just over half an hour’s journey from London, where the 18th Century Sonning Bridge joins the counties of Berkshire and Oxfordshire.

Set on one of the most beautiful stretches of the River Thames, The Great House is surrounded by romantic views, and lawns, stunning scenery, and has its own private Secret Garden.

The hotel itself is steeped in history, making it a perfect wedding venue.

The Vibe

Classically beautiful, The Great House is filled with natural light and is surrounded by its own private terrace overlooking the river.

This beautiful space can host a ceremony for 120 and an evening reception for up to 200. For pre-wedding dinner or reception, the private dining room can host 10 – 150 guests, perfect for night-before family gathering or morning-after breakfast.

The hotel provides 49 carefully thought out rooms, which have been been designed to provide an ideal place for pre-wedding preparation, and the perfect setting for newlyweds.
