Sedgewell Barn is located on 60 acres of privately owned farmland in the heart of rural North Yorkshire. Close to the charming village of Ainderby Steeple, with its traditional pub and historic church, the venue offers a peaceful countryside escape. The surrounding area features stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales, providing a picturesque and tranquil backdrop for a wedding celebration.
Run by husband and wife Stuart and Catherine Tweddle, along with their friendly team, the venue’s small farm, home to Pedro the Pony, Mr Fuzzy Face, Valais Blacknose sheep, and the trusted companion Max the Sprocker, adds a delightful touch to the overall charm of Sedgewell Barn.
Ceremony
Sedgewell Barn is licensed for civil ceremonies and offers two ceremony rooms to suit different preferences. Couples can choose to exchange vows indoors or take advantage of the outdoor courtyard and terrace area for a ceremony surrounded by nature. The venue’s outdoor seating areas, along with its welcoming Byre and beautiful photo opportunities, create an unforgettable setting for this special moment.
Reception
The venue features two interlinked barns for receptions. The Rustic Barn exudes romance and warmth, while the Celebration Barn, with its contemporary design, offers sweeping views of the Yorkshire Dales. These flexible spaces allow couples to design their perfect reception, from intimate dinners to larger celebrations, while offering a seamless flow between events.
Accommodation
For overnight guests, the venue offers 11 deluxe glamping pods, each equipped with private hot tubs, en-suite shower rooms, and kitchens, providing comfort and convenience.
In addition, The Nest, a luxury country cottage with a private hot tub, serves as the ideal bridal suite and honeymoon retreat. Exclusive use of these accommodations for two or three nights ensures privacy and intimacy for the couple and up to 45 guests.
Food & Drink
Sedgewell Barn offers couples flexibility in choosing their catering. While the venue has six recommended caterers who are familiar with its facilities and processes, couples are welcome to select any caterer that suits their taste and budget, ensuring the menu is as personal as the day itself.
