Middleton Lodge Estate

Middleton Lodge sits within 200 acres of privately owned parkland, a restored country retreat with an award-winning hotel and restaurant, treatment rooms, and two distinguished event spaces available for exclusive wedding celebrations. Couples may choose the Georgian Main House, with its sweeping staircase, generous reception rooms, private croquet lawn and garden marquee, or the two-acre Walled Garden and Fig House, tucked behind historic brick walls. Each option feels characterful and self-contained, offering a refined rural setting with a quiet sense of privacy.

Redesigned by renowned landscape architect Tom Stuart-Smith, the Walled Gardens are filled with abundant greenery and British flower scents, with four arbours, one for each season.

Ceremonies at the Main House can welcome up to 120 guests, offering an elegant backdrop for vows before dining either in the intimate Dining Room for up to 32 or in the Garden Marquee for as many as 170. Within the Walled Garden, couples can exchange vows in the light-filled Fig House, where large windows and doors open to the terrace and climbing fig vines trace the original brickwork. Here, up to 90 guests may gather for the ceremony before the day flows naturally into the celebrations that follow.

Each space is designed with a considered sense of style, drawing inspiration from the surrounding countryside. The Fig House opens directly onto a broad terrace, creating an easy connection between indoors and out, while the Boiler House Bar, with deep velvet green sofas, open fires and botanically inspired antiques, becomes a relaxed gathering point for drinks. At the Walled Garden, up to 130 guests may dine before the evening expands to accommodate as many as 200 for dancing. At the Main House, evening celebrations can continue with 110 guests inside or up to 200 in the Garden Marquee.

Accommodation sits at the heart of the estate experience. Around the Main House staircase, 15 double bedrooms may be taken exclusively, allowing close friends and family to stay together after the celebrations. Additional bedrooms can be reserved at the Coach House, Dairy and Farmhouse to keep more of the wedding party nearby. For Walled Garden weddings, ten bedrooms across the Potting Sheds and Orchard Rooms can be hired exclusively, with further rooms available on request, giving couples flexibility to shape the stay to their plans.
