Who else can say their wedding took over an entire hilltop village overlooking the Luberon and that they’ve married on the site where intrepid Englishman and inventor Jeremy Fry hosted his most exclusive and personal parties?
Previously featured in Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, the ancient hamlet is situated in the heart of the Luberon region of Provence. It commands sumptuous views across an untamed landscape and the Luberon National Park, not to mention lavender fields on the hills.
Le Grand Banc’s commitment to preserving its serene and untouched beauty makes it the perfect venue for intimate, low-impact celebrations. It’s a blank canvas on which you can create your unique wedding.
There are several locations within the hamlet where a ceremony can be held. The choice is entirely yours!
As you have the whole hamlet to use, there are several places to have your reception. Typically guests choose a roaming reception after their ceremony, starting on the lower terrace and moving through the hamlet to eventually arrive at the pool terrace with drinks, confetti and photo opportunities along the way.
There are 15 bedrooms spread across small houses, apartments, and individual rooms, sleeping up to 32 people. Each space varies in size, layout, and interior style. The hamlet also features an art collection that has caught the attention of several style publications.
Breakfast is included for two days for those staying. They offer a brunch for those staying on the wedding day, as they have found this best suits the timings of the day’s events.
All other meals are designed to suit your preferences. Working with experienced caterers and a planner familiar with the venue, you can choose how and where you’d like to eat.
Le Grand Banc is working towards sustainability, but it’s a long road for a hamlet built in the 16th century and situated in a World Heritage Park, where there are limitations in terms of renewable energy. However, they aim to produce as little waste as possible and recycle wherever they can.
Situated between several picturesque villages, Le Grand Banc offers plenty to explore. You might take a walk through the Gorges d’Oppedette, enjoy wine on the terrace at Les Davids, a local winery or have lunch on long tables in the tiny village of Oppedette.
As they are situated in a World Heritage Park, there are restrictions on air traffic. This means they have some of the clearest and brightest skies in Europe.
Avignon TGV station is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes by car, and Marseille Provence Airport is around a 1 hour 45 minute drive. Weddings are supported by a reliable local transport company offering buses, plus there are national buses and good local taxis.
As the venue is a private home, they don’t hold weddings during the cooler months.
It's difficult to provide a precise figure for your wedding at LGB, as it largely depends on your unique vision and goals. However, we can offer guide pricing based on previous weddings, which can help you determine if this venue aligns with your budget and expectations.
