Dewsall Court

From the moment we found Dewsall’s website, we knew we had found the place we wanted to get married, and, to our relief, it was as wonderful as we hoped. It provides luxury without being pretentious, nature and sustainability without being shabby, professional and slick service without making you feel like you are just another wedding and flexibility without being overwhelmed with choice. It’s special but relaxed.

From the moment we first enquired, the time given to show us around, communication and support for organising our day was great. The costs and what was included were clear, and there was lots of flexibility in how we ran our day.

The food was so important to us, as we wanted a fully plant-based menu and the catering staff were really flexible to accommodate our requests and some guests unique dietary requirements. All the food was amazing and we had several compliments from guests.

Despite being disappointed that weather on the run up to our big day meant we couldn’t have our ceremony outside, the staff were on top of everything to make the ceremony just as special and the change over in the Wainhouse seamless.

Over our stay it felt like a home from home. All the staff were friendly and professional. Our guests have told us how much they enjoyed their stay and loved the venue. We all felt we were cut off from the world had the most incredibly special time at Dewsall. We hope to come back for one of the pop-up hotel stays!

Congratulations to the kitchen and waiting staff. Delicious food at every meal.

Dewsall will forever hold a very special place in our hearts. Despite our planning process being very short (Just 90 days!), the team were so professional, efficient and helpful. We had a load of weird requests – from swapping our canapés to massive hot dogs to setting up beer pong tables – and the team always took them in their stride and helped them to come to life.

We wanted somewhere that felt like a home, which is honestly not very easy with wedding venues, but Dewsall has completely retained the feel of the family home. It was like we had invited all our best friends to our house for a party. There was a different space for each part and we used almost all of the house, from the barn to the party den.

The food was next level – everything was amazing. They even recreated our favourite starter from a restaurant we love at home and it was epic. Lots of people commented on it being the best wedding food they’d had.

Huge thanks to Hannah and Tom especially, who made the whole thing feel so effortless for us, and to Fiona who kept us all fed, watered and looked after for the weekend. It was the best weekend!

From the moment we first spoke to Ellen and our first viewing, we knew there was something special about Dewsall and that it was the place for us. The house and grounds are stunning, and every member of the team we came across made our experience that much better.

Rosie you have been beyond fantastic helping us plan our truly magical day. Your organisation and passion put us both at ease. From our first conversation we knew we were in safe hands. Not only did everything run like clockwork, you did it all whilst Dafydd (best man) chewed your ear off. Everybody said how lovely you are, thank you so much for everything.

Molly, you and your team are culinary wizards. You created some of the best food we have ever had (I’m obsessed with the pavlova, and rhydian wishes he could have that beef every day). We were excited for the tasting day, however after the first canapé we were in love and didn’t want the day to end. We can’t thank you enough for answering all of our millions of questions and dealing with all the dietary requirements. The food was beyond delicious, and all our guests felt the same.

The top three things people have said to us are, the food was amazing, the venue was a stunning and it was the best wedding they had ever been to.

Thank you to Henry, you and your team were fantastic and so friendly. Thank you so much for dealing with our slightly drunk friends and family. Seeing some of our guests in the morning it is clear everyone enjoyed your offerings.

As a final thank you, we would like to thank the laddies and Huw who looked after us in the house. Nothing was ever to much, and you were always on hand.

Our time at Dewsall court has truly been magical. We spent the past couple of days reliving our time there. It has become one of our favourite and most special places, we only wish we could do it exactly the same again and again. You really are made to feel like part of the family. We couldn’t recommend it enough, although selfishly we would like to keep it to ourselves.

A massive thank you to everyone at Dewsall Court for making the most magical weekend possible. Our team were outstanding – from the start, they helped guide us through the whole process, taking on board all of our ideas and turning them to life in the most magical way possible. I will always remember walking into the Wainhouse on the wedding day and just being amazed at what they had done to make all our ideas come to life. Throughout the planning, they were always available and answered any questions straight away – nothing was too much for them – and they were incredible at making the planning and run-up as stress-free and fun as possible.

The house itself is beautiful, with so much character and glorious quirks, and the grounds are absolutely stunning – the moment you walk in you are wowed by not only the beauty but by an amazing sense of calm. Walking into the house felt like walking into a home away from home, making the entire weekend such a lovely experience. We were greeted by the most amazing house staff who really made us and the guests feel completely relaxed. They were on hand for anything we needed and it was clear how much they loved the house – we all particularly enjoyed hearing all the snippets of history about the house and all its contents over the numerous cups of coffee had in the kitchen (with some of the best homemade biscuits I have had to date!).

The day itself was utterly magical, and the fact it went so smoothly is a testament to all the time and effort Dewsall put into the coordination and planning of it. All the staff were amazing – and seemed to genuinely enjoy working with the venue, laughing with guests and helping create the most gloriously fun and relaxed atmosphere. Every part of the day was perfect, from the beautiful ceremony in the church to the relaxed welcoming reception in the conservatory (with the best canapes we have ever had) and into the dinner and party in the Wainhouse, which was just echoing with joy and laughter throughout the evening. One thing to also say is how amazing the food was – the menu options were all amazing (it was so hard to decide) and every course was incredible – people are still talking about it today, saying it was the best food that they have ever had at a wedding!

What really made it so special though was how personal Dewsall made the entire process and the wedding itself feel, and there was no sense that this is something they do on repeat – everyone who came to the wedding said how it felt like it was “us in a nutshell” and a lot of that was down to the team running with our ideas and letting us go with the flow as opposed to doing things a certain way.

We can not thank you enough for making our wedding more incredible that our wildest dreams! Dewsall will always have a special place in our hearts. Hannah, Freja and the team, words can not describe the gratitude we have for you and what you do!

A magical venue for a fairy tale wedding. Thank you to all the staff for looking after us so well!

After looking at wedding venues from Aberdeen to Cornwall and everywhere in between(!) I can honestly say there’s nowhere comparable to Dewsall. I wouldn’t change a thing about it, the atmosphere, the people, the food – all amazing! We had so many compliments from our guests who felt, like us, that we’d found a hidden gem!

We didn’t want to leave and just wanted to experience it all again. Thank you for making our special day incredible. We cannot thank you enough.
