Bredon Manor is a Georgian country house in its own grounds, surrounded by rolling Gloucestershire countryside with views over the River Avon. The estate and gardens are exclusively yours for the weekend, and only a handful of weddings are hosted each year. Guests can take drinks on the lawn in front of the house, by the pool, or on the lawn overlooking the church, and explore the sunken rose garden.
St Giles’ Church sits immediately next door, with a private gate from the churchyard directly into Bredon Manor’s gardens. Couples who are eligible to marry at St Giles’ can walk straight through to their reception. Bredon Manor itself is not licensed for civil ceremonies. Other couples complete the legal formalities elsewhere, then hold a celebrant-led ceremony or blessing in the grounds or wedding barn.
The barn seats up to 80 guests for the wedding breakfast, with room for up to 100 in the evening, and a stretch tent can be hired on the lawn for extra covered space. For more than 80 seated guests, a marquee on the front lawn seats up to 150. There are no fixed templates; each celebration is designed around the couple. Long tables and chairs for 80 are included. The estate also hosts Friday welcome receptions and Sunday pool parties, turning the day into a full weekend.
Weekend hire includes the two-bedroom Coach House and the two-bedroom Lodge for Friday and Saturday nights, plus two Georgian bedrooms in the Manor House on Saturday night, one of which is ideal for the wedding party to get ready in. Two further Manor House bedrooms can be hired, allowing up to 16 guests to stay on the estate. There is more accommodation in the village, a short walk away.
From canapés on the lawn to feasting in the barn, street food to a traditional sit-down meal, Napier, their exclusive caterer, builds each menu around the couple. No corkage is charged, so couples can bring whatever they like to toast the day.
Sustainability is woven into how Bredon Manor operates as a family home and wedding venue. The team works with local Cotswold suppliers wherever possible, maintains its own gardens and grounds, and on-estate accommodation means guests stay where they celebrate rather than commuting to hotels. Couples are encouraged to support locally sourced or personally meaningful choices.
Bredon Manor sits on the edge of Bredon village, a quiet settlement with two good pubs and a footpath along the River Avon. The National Trust’s 14th-century Tithe Barn borders the estate. The medieval market town of Tewkesbury is seven minutes away and Cheltenham twenty-five minutes.
Bredon Manor is two and a half hours from London by car, twenty-five minutes from Cheltenham, and around an hour from Bristol or Birmingham. Ashchurch for Tewkesbury station (four miles away) connects to major cities by rail, with direct London services from Evesham (thirty minutes). Birmingham and Bristol airports are within an hour. There is on-site parking for fifty cars.
We feel very lucky to have found Bredon Manor and felt that it was the perfect venue, combining Cotswold country house grandeur, wonderful and beautifully kept gardens, and the barn for dining and dancing. It certainly was ‘a truly splendid venue and a glorious setting’ for their big day. Laura is a superb wedding co-ordinator and helped to make everything run smoothly.
I just wanted to send you both an email and thank you both. We had a fabulous time, and Jack and James’s wedding was amazing. A fantastic venue.
Married October 2023
Our wedding at Bredon Manor was nothing short of amazing. Managed by the wonderful Charlie and Peter, this countryside venue offered us an idyllic setting for our special day. The flexibility to use the venue for the entire weekend allowed us to prepare on the Friday for the big day, and have a small, post-wedding celebration with close family on the Sunday.
What really sets Bredon apart is its unique charm – it’s not your typical wedding venue that can feel a bit like a ‘sausage factory’. Rather than feeling like we were being rushed, Bredon allowed us the time and space to fully immerse ourselves in our big day. It offers an intimate atmosphere, which we fell in love with on our first visit. Having the flexibility to style the day and bring in our own suppliers allowed us to put our own stamp on our special day.
Charlie and Peter were incredibly helpful throughout the whole weekend, rolling up their sleeves to support our wedding coordinator and suppliers. Our guests were in awe of the venue and never tired of telling us how beautiful it was and what a fantastic time they were having. Bredon was a crucial part of making our wedding day so incredible, and we can’t recommend it highly enough for couples looking for a unique and personal wedding.

We just wanted to say a big thank you for the best day ever last weekend! Your beautiful place really saved the day – it all turned out better than we could possibly have wished for. The gardens and barns were such a lovely setting and we loved the cosy Coach House and gorgeous bedrooms in the main house.
A wonderful experience and a fantastic location for a wedding. It was a perfect day in a perfect location.
Married June 2024
Choosing Bredon Manor as our wedding venue was one of the best decisions we made for our special day. In the heart of the countryside, Bredon Manor provided for us an enchanting setting that feels both intimate and grand – we knew it was our venue the moment we saw it.
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms by the owners, Charlie and Peter. Their hospitality and genuine care made us feel like we were part of not only something special for us, but for the Manor House too. They took the time to understand our vision and were incredibly accommodating, ensuring every detail was just right.
The manor itself is breathtaking. The beautifully maintained gardens provided a stunning backdrop for our outdoor ceremony, we were absolutely blessed with the afternoon sun adding a super magical touch to our vows. Inside, the manor is elegantly decorated, modern but in keeping with the venue itself.
Charlie and Peter went above and beyond in every aspect. Their dedication to making our wedding perfect was evident in the way they attended our supplier meetings and helped us to make our dream really come true.
Our guests couldn’t stop talking about the venue, and what a special venue to now have within our local area for many others to now celebrate their marriage together with their loved ones. The atmosphere was simply enchanting, leaving everyone (but mainly us!) with memories they will cherish forever.
If you’re looking for a wedding venue that offers both beauty and a deeply personal experience, Bredon Manor is the place. Charlie and Peter have created something truly special, and we are so grateful to have celebrated our love in their magnificent home. We cannot recommend Bredon Manor enough—it was everything we dreamed of and more.

We looked at lots of wedding venues but knew the moment we pulled into Bredon Manor that this was where we wanted to get married. The owners, Charlie and Peter, are amazing and very welcoming; they helped and supported us through the whole journey alongside the super wedding planners, Louise & Laura. There are lots of ways to have your dream wedding at this venue, and the team will help you bring it to life!

Thank you so much for sharing a piece of your incredible home with us for our wedding weekend. We can honestly say that it was our dream day, and we feel so honoured to have been able to use Bredon Manor. It was the most perfect setting. All of our guests have not stopped talking about how wonderful the venue was, especially those that were able to stay on-site in the Manor House and cottages. Thank you again.

All the support over the last few days (and months) has been incredible, and we could not be more grateful!
Married August 2024
On behalf of myself and Jack, I just wanted to say the biggest thank you for last weekend. Not only for the use of your beautiful house, barn and grounds but also for being so hands-on and helping make everything so smooth and perfect.
It really was the perfect weekend, and we have had so many messages saying exactly that. We are so very grateful.
Married June 2024
Just wanted to get in touch now that we’re back from our honeymoon to say a massive thank you for everything. The day went perfectly and the venue looked absolutely fantastic. We really appreciate all of your help and support with getting the day ready over the last few months. It was a day we’ll never forget!
No. Bring whatever you like - wine, spirits, something sentimental. We don't charge a penny on it.
The barn seats up to 80 guests for the wedding breakfast and holds up to 100 in the evening. A stretch tent can be added on the lawn for extra covered space. For more than 80 seated, a marquee on the front lawn seats up to 150.
No. St Giles' church is immediately next door, with a private gate into our garden, so couples can marry there and walk straight through. Couples not marrying in church hold the legal ceremony at a register office beforehand and have a celebrant-led blessing here, outdoors or in the barn.
Bredon Manor works with Napier, its preferred caterer, which designs bespoke menus for each couple. Requests to bring an alternative or specialist caterer (for example, for Indian, kosher, or other cuisine traditions) are considered on a case-by-case basis.
Only for more than 80 seated guests. A marquee for around 120 guests, including flooring, lighting, bar, and power, is typically about £8,500 through County Marquees, our preferred supplier.
Guests staying on the estate may enjoy the pool area and barn until 3pm on Sunday. An optional Sunday celebration extends this to 5pm and can accommodate up to 100 guests.
As a guide, couples holding a wedding for up to 80 guests in the barn typically spend between £40,000 and £60,000 in total. For larger weddings of more than 80 and up to 150 guests, held in a marquee on the front lawn, the typical total spend is between £50,000 and £80,000.
These ranges include venue hire, which starts from £14,995 including VAT, catering through Napier, drinks and other wedding suppliers such as florists, photographers, musicians and stylists. Final costs will depend on guest numbers and the choices each couple makes.
