The estate is not just a wedding venue but a place for guests to relax and enjoy the entire weekend. A heated swimming pool, tennis court, and wood-fired hot tubs offer entertainment and relaxation for all. The experienced wedding planner, Caroline Griffiths, is available to assist with every detail, drawing on an extensive network of trusted suppliers to create a seamless experience.

There are several options for exchanging vows. The Barn, with its rustic charm and historic details, provides a character-filled setting for a heartfelt ceremony. For those who prefer the outdoors, the estate offers six acres of lawns and three terraces, ideal for saying ‘I do’ under open skies. Couples may also choose from the romantic orchard, the wildflower meadow, or the elegant gardens.

For those seeking a traditional church wedding, the nearby 18th-century St. Helena Church is available, with Boconnion hosting the celebrations afterwards. Celebrant ceremonies are welcome; however, the venue does not hold a licence for civil ceremonies.

The Barn is at the heart of Boconnion’s celebrations, combining original features with modern touches. Designed by the estate’s owner, Rob, it retains its traditional character while offering a well-equipped space for up to 90 seated guests and 150 evening guests over two floors. A handcrafted oak bar made from a fallen estate tree serves as a centrepiece.

The first floor is filled with natural light from a floor-to-ceiling window, while a wood burner ensures warmth. The lower floor, with its exposed stone walls and rustic beams, provides an intimate setting for a wedding breakfast. Larger receptions can be hosted outdoors, with marquees or tipis overlooking the Camel Valley, accommodating up to 250 guests.

Up to 37 guests can stay across three restored properties, each within walking distance of the events barn.

• The Manor House sleeps 17 and features a heated swimming pool, tennis court, grand piano, and Sonos sound system.
• The Barton accommodates 12 and offers rural charm, including a wood-fired hot tub, table tennis, and an open-sided barn for al fresco dining.
• The Stables sleeps eight and is styled with modern romantic touches, including a vintage Harrods sleigh bed and a copper bath. A private walled garden provides a secluded spot for evening dining under the stars.

There is space for glamping or camping, and additional accommodation is available nearby. All three properties are available for a minimum two-night stay.

Accessible facilities are available, including discreetly tucked-away restrooms and a shower.

Boconnion works exclusively with 12 trusted local caterers, offering a variety of cuisines and price points. A professional kitchen is available on-site.

The venue provides a fully stocked and licensed bar, open from 4pm to 11:30pm on arrival day and from 10 am to midnight on the wedding day. A pop-up bar can be set up by the pool, and drinks include local wines and beers. Prices are comparable to local pubs, with the option to run a pay bar or tab.

• The nearest station, Bodmin Parkway, is served by Great Western Railway. A local bus (BlueFlash 11A) connects the station with Bodmin town, taking approximately 10 minutes.
