Il Rigo is the ideal place for those seeking peace and beauty. Surrounded by rolling hills, medieval towns and open fields, it is a photographers paradise. It is the starting point for numerous itineraries either on foot, by bicycle or by car. Within a few kilometres there’s a concentration of small historic towns (Montalcino, Pienza, Montepulciano, Monticchiello, Rocca d’Orcia…) which make the Valdorcia an important centre for art and culture.
The Valdorcia was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004 thanks to the beauty of its landscape and its sustainable development.
Il Rigo is a home and organic farm. They keep things intimate, informal and simple.
They host only few weddings per year and each one is special and personal. It is the right location for those wishing to spend a mini-holiday in this area, that is rich of beautiful medieval villages, wine producers, natural hot-springs and many activities!
Their philosophy is to create a hand-made and home-made “slow-wedding”. From the breakfast and the menu of the wedding day, prepared with locally grown vegetables and traditional produces, to the favours for your guests and of course the decorations! Il Rigo has a cut flower garden that produces organic flowers for table decorations and bouquets. They can also decorate the ceremony setting, if you are thinking of a symbolic ceremony at the venue.
Their prices include:
Thank you so much for all your work and effort to make our wedding be wonderful and unforgettable! You all made our festivities very special. You made every wish come true.
It was the most beautiful bouquet I have ever set my eyes on and it was mine.
We found Il Rigo by looking for an organic and rustic agriturismo in Tuscany, and we got so much more than we were looking for: delicious home grown food, beautiful flower arrangements and wonderful staff. We really could not have asked for more! Kelly is Italian and that is why we decided to get married in the beautiful Tuscan countryside.
Thank you for making our day absolutely perfect. You all work so hard and we couldn’t have asked for anything more!
We loved that all of our guests were so relaxed and had such a vacation feeling that this was the most relaxed wedding we’ve ever attended – even if this was our own wedding!
No. In order to create a personal connection with those who choose to celebrate in our home, we decided not to work with wedding planners. I will support you during the organization, providing contacts, tips and useful information.
No. We don't have a chapel onsite and a civil wedding has to be celebrated in the town hall (or in the public gardens, which are found in San Quirico d’Orcia). We can celebrate symbolic ceremonies on our grounds.
YES! In addition to our vegetable production, we dedicate a part of our garden to cut flowers. We grow organically unique annual flowers that we combine with wild herbs and foliage, creating flower arrangements that blend beautifully with the landscape, according to the season and surrounding nature. The flowers we grow are rarely sold in flower shops and will add a personal touch to your wedding! We can prepare bouquets, boutonnières, and table centrepieces, and we can decorate the ceremony setting at Il Rigo. We can prepare simple arrangements for a town hall or the churches in San Quirico and Pienza as well.
By car. You will definitely need a car to stay in our area – otherwise it will be impossible for you to explore the towns and villages and the beautiful countryside around Il Rigo. We suggest you rent directly at the airport upon your arrival.
We host weddings in the summer months only, from the middle of June until the end of August. That is the hottest period and has the lowest chance of rain so you can take advantage of the great outdoor spaces of Il Rigo. The landscape can change regularly during the summer, as the crops in the fields change the color of the valley. June is green and full of wildflowers, while July has a characteristic yellow color of ripe wheat! In the middle of August, we start plowing the fields and the landscape turns brown, with earthy tones.
