Nestled on 30 acres of woodland, The Upper Estate House is a distinctive country house wedding venue located in Derbyshire. Situated in the heart of the National Trust Kinder Estate, this 15th-century medieval estate provides a secluded and enchanting backdrop for your celebration. The venue offers the rare opportunity to host an exclusive wedding surrounded by the tranquillity of the countryside.
The Vibe
The Upper Estate House, originally a hunting lodge, seamlessly blends historical charm with contemporary elegance. Set against the quiet moorlands, this intimate wedding venue allows couples to enjoy the romance of a bygone era while savouring the comforts of modern restoration.
The Upper Estate opens its doors for an entire weekend of private hire, specialising in smaller weddings but accommodating celebrations with up to 130 attendees. For those desiring a luxurious, intimate affair, the house can host up to 30 guests for a stay. With four licensed spaces for civil ceremonies, couples can choose from the spectacular House and Hall indoors, the courtyard outdoors, or the Solstice Tower overlooking Kinder Reservoir.
The Upper Estate offers an all-inclusive stay with undivided attention and assistance from their dedicated staff. The venue provides two large bespoke tipis for a wedding feast on the grounds. Partnered with Vanilla In All Seasons for catering, couples can enjoy signature drinks and bespoke Kinder Cocktails from the fully stocked bar. The wine cellar, boasting over 75 wines, adds a touch of sophistication that can be pre-ordered for the celebration. To ensure every guest is taken care of, the venue provides an in-house mini-bus service from the local village of Hayfield. As a cherry on top, couples booking with The Upper Estate are assigned a personal wedding planner, offering four meetings during the lead-up to the wedding, including a delightful wine-tasting experience.
