The Ash Barton Manor House and Estate is set within 50 acres of beautiful North Devon countryside with its own wildflower meadows and lakes. The nearest neighbour is over a mile away, so you’re guaranteed privacy and exclusivity on your wedding day.
Incredibly, there are 13 different licensed locations on the Estate where you can hold your wedding ceremony including the old chapel, the walled garden, the courtyard and the wildflower meadow. The capacity ranges from 30 to 200, and there’s also self-catering accommodation for 50.
Ash Barton shies away from any kind of ‘package’ wedding. Instead, they’ve created a relaxed, informal environment, which allows each couple the complete freedom to create their wedding celebration their way. The best bit? No curfew and no corkage! Yep, you heard me.
Ash Barton can be booked over the weekend from Thursday to Monday or Monday to Thursday. And as there are special rates for those midweek bookings, it’s possible to book an incredible wedding venue at a very affordable price.
If you’ve opted for a weekend of celebrations, Thursday is move in day and very often there’s a family dinner party. Friday is spent decorating and preparing for the big day and Saturday is the day for the ceremony. The big party barn has a not-to- be-missed disco dancefloor and the festivities tend to be loud and late thanks to their no curfew rule. So if you fancy dancing ’til dawn with your friends and family then this is absolutely the right venue for you. Sunday, the decor comes down and it’s a day of hanging out around the fire pit and tucking into fish and chips or a barbecue.
You’re free to organise your own bar and caterers with your own choice of suppliers at no extra charge. Ash Barton can also put you in touch with some fabulous local planners/co-ordinators to help you with the planning/on-the-day duties.
The house itself is beautifully appointed with crisp white cotton sheets, warm duvets, big fluffy towels, huge squashy sofas and unlimited logs for the log burners. There’s also a heated indoor pool and a huge, heated games barn with full size snooker and pool tables, a five-a-side pitch, trampoline, table football, badminton, table tennis and more.
Ash Barton has a ground floor bedroom for less mobile guests, with a fully equipped disabled shower room. There are disabled loos and showers for campers too. And with multiple ramps around the property, wheelchair visitors get to enjoy the venue as much as everyone else.
Ash Barton gives you get the opportunity to celebrate your wedding in style and spend a few days with friends and family in an ultra-laid back yet luxurious surrounding.
The team at Ash Barton were incredibly helpful and it was the most magical day of our lives!
A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped make our wedding so special. It was so intimate and special, and we couldn’t have asked for more.
At Ash Barton there is no curfew, no constraints and nothing is too difficult. It really is possible to have the perfect wedding.
Simon has seriously gone the extra mile (he’s practically built a rocket and flown it to space) to help us and countless other couples out of various sticky situations. We could not be more grateful for his patience and understanding, and above all, his kindness. Our wedding may be a little way down the road, but we couldn’t be feeling more positive, or be in better hands.
You know it’s been a success when pretty much all your friends and family tell you it’s the best wedding they’ve ever been to.
Ash Barton is such a magical venue. So if you’re even considering it just book it. You won’t be disappointed.
Our advice to other brides and grooms? Book this place. You will not regret it. Choosing Ash Barton for our venue was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.
We wanted somewhere laid back. We loved the fact that Simon basically said you can keep going as late as you like and be as loud as you like!
Just do it! Honestly, you won’t regret it. It’s such a versatile venue which can be transformed into whatever you’re looking for.
Simon – Thank you so much. You have created something so special. We hope we did it justice and wish we could do it all over again. Jealous of those who have it yet to come!
The whole experience of spending four days with our nearest and dearest (just over 30 in the house and 75 guests on the day) was incredible and meant so much to us, especially as we had guests travel from all over the UK and the world.
I knew we were going to have a good time, but I don’t think I can explain how amazing and relaxing and fun this place is. The calming atmosphere of Ash Barton is magic.
I am super jealous of those who are still to have their weddings! You are all so lucky and have really chosen the best place to have your day. Ash Barton, you were the best! Simon and Henry, thank you so much!
It’s safe to say we had the most incredible weekend with all our friends and family, and we are all still recovering! The staff were amazing, with Henry helping us more than we could have ever asked for.
When you spend a few days at Ash Barton you forget the outside world exists. We completely and utterly love it. We were so lucky to get married there.
