Setting

River Cottage isn’t just an iconic venue in Devon; it’s also an award-winning destination for unforgettable weddings! Set on 65 acres of organic farmland near the stunning Jurassic Coast, River Cottage offers breathtaking backdrops for your special day.

Ceremony

Fully licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships, you can choose to exchange vows in Hugh’s famous farmhouse, the beautifully refurbished barn with views over the Axe Valley, or their charming walled garden.

Reception

The Threshing Barn accommodates up to 100 seated guests for your ceremony and 60 for dining, transforming into a dance floor for 120 guests in the evening. After your celebration, retire to the lovely 17th-century farmhouse. For larger weddings, the expansive grounds are perfect for marquees and glamping. They can organise shelter for outdoor ceremonies and facilities for DJs and live bands to keep the party going.

Accommodation

River Cottage includes accommodation in the famous farmhouse as part of all wedding packages. The farmhouse features three bedrooms, accommodating up to six guests on a bed-and-breakfast basis, allowing the wedding party to extend their celebration into a restful stay after the festivities.

Food & Drink

Their fantastic wedding packages include seasonal menus focused on exceptional food crafted with the finest homegrown, local, organic, and seasonal ingredients from the award-winning cookery school.

Getting There

Guests arrive by travelling down a scenic track into the valley, taking in the beautiful Devon countryside views.

We had our wedding reception at River Cottage and it couldn’t have been a more perfect location to celebrate our marriage. The whole venue is just fab and we particularly liked that the use of the whole area (farmhouse, yurt, barn) was included (including Laura!). It was such a relaxed atmosphere and exactly how we wanted our venue to feel. The food was absolutely incredible and the attention to detail is second to none. Our guests along with us, were blown away by the flavours and presentation. We stayed in the farmhouse and had brunch with 18 friends the following day-this made the whole experience feel longer and we once again indulged in an incredible selection of food. The most amazing beautiful wedding. The whole experience from the time we booked the venue last year was absolutely perfect. Laura our Wedding planner was a delight to work with she made our whole day flow with no problems at all. The food was absolutely delicious, we had 64 guests for the sit-down meal and all of them had thoroughly enjoyed their food.
