At The Barns at Redcoats, the team loves to showcase everything their Hertfordshire barn wedding venue has to offer. Recently, they hosted a special event for friends in the wedding industry, allowing guests to experience the magic of The Barns – a venue where countryside charm, sustainability, and modern style come together seamlessly.
Nestled in the picturesque Hertfordshire countryside, The Barns at Redcoats is a popular choice for couples, offering the perfect escape just 30 minutes from London. While we regularly welcome couples for show rounds and host open days, this event was an opportunity to connect with wedding professionals and give them an exclusive tour of all the ways The Barns create unforgettable weddings.
Our guests enjoyed a full tour of the beautiful grounds, including some of our 27 bedrooms, which offer a mix of accommodation styles. From the charming Farmhouse rooms to the stylish Stable Rooms and modern Barn Bedrooms, each space exudes character and comfort. We’re proud to offer this level of accommodation, allowing wedding guests to stay overnight without leaving the grounds – something our past Barns couples rave about!
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we proudly showcased our no-dig garden, which grows seasonal vegetables often used in our 2AA rosette Farmhouse restaurant across the courtyard. This ensures homegrown produce travels zero miles to the kitchen!
For our barn weddings, our kitchen team has crafted a dedicated farm-to-fork-inspired wedding menu celebrating the best of local produce. However, starting this year, couples who wish to explore a more personalised option can work with our Executive Chef, Sherwin Jacobs, to create a bespoke wedding dish or menu, incorporating fresh, homegrown ingredients whenever possible.
Couples can also collaborate with our amazing bar team to create garden-to-glass-inspired cocktails, using ingredients from our garden to craft fresh, unique drinks. At the event, guests tried our Tomartini, shaken with juice from heritage tomatoes grown on-site – a cocktail that embodies our farm-to-fork philosophy. Other favourites include our Inverted Mojito, topped with mint foam using herbs grown on-site, and the Rhubarb Sour, featuring homegrown rhubarb. Although the availability of our garden produce can vary with the seasons, our team is always eager to craft new and innovative drinks inspired by what’s fresh at the time.
After the tour, we hosted a cocktail masterclass, during which guests enjoyed crafting and sipping margaritas and Bramble cocktails—a fun, interactive way to explore the flavours we love. As the afternoon turned into evening, candles were lit, and a delicious farm-to-fork feast began. Our guests dined under historic beams and twinkling festoon lights, enjoying a showcase of our wedding menu.
Unique Rebels Union styled the table, which featured flowers by Willow and Blossom Floral Design, tableware from Wren Ark, and peach-striped linen from Truffle Tablescapes. Hobo Chic Music set the evening’s relaxed yet upbeat tone, playing while we dined—a perfect way to round off the day. It was a beautiful day filled with laughter, learning, and plenty of inspiration for future weddings and events.
Whether you’re planning a dream wedding, a special celebration, or even a corporate retreat, The Barns offers the perfect blend of rustic charm, modern style, and sustainable luxury. Our team, along with our incredible local suppliers, are experts in creating events that are truly one-of-a-kind.
