While no one is asking you to forgo your dream day in the name of eco-perfection, it’s genuinely inspiring to see so many wedding venues and suppliers embracing thoughtful, meaningful change, especially when it’s done in a way that enhances the celebration rather than taking away from it.
At Coco Wedding Venues, we’ve been watching this gentle but powerful shift ripple through the wedding industry for some time now—and we’re 100% here for it. Couples are asking different questions, prioritising values as much as visuals, and increasingly looking for ways to celebrate with a lighter footprint. And where better to begin than with your venue?
Our Venue Finder tool is a great place to begin—just tick the ‘Eco’ filter under Venue Type and see what comes up. You might be surprised by what’s out there! Just remember that sustainability isn’t always about stripping back your day—it’s also about enriching it with meaning and intention, which brings me to a real gem…
Today, we’re spotlighting one of our favourite sustainable venues: Homme House, a family-owned country house in the heart of Herefordshire. Not only is it breathtakingly beautiful, but it’s also making waves with its thoughtful approach to sustainable weddings—underpinned by an ethos of regeneration, restoration, and real purpose.
Homme House is an exclusive-use Georgian country house (with 16th-century origins) set within 200 acres of Herefordshire’s most idyllic landscape. Think sweeping views towards the Malvern Hills, 110 acres of wild parkland, and 80 acres of magical woodland.
But there’s much more going on here than picture-perfect scenery. At its core, Homme is a family home with a proud commitment to sustainability, community, and custodianship. Weddings here actively contribute to the restoration of this historic estate and its surrounding habitats. The team at Homme refers to their approach as a “regenerative” one—where weddings don’t just aim to minimise harm but leave a positive and lasting impact.
From low-energy lighting and eco toiletries to food waste composting and refillable glass bottles in every room, sustainability is woven into the fabric of this home. Proceeds from weddings directly support conservation projects across the estate, including the restoration of listed heritage buildings, biodiversity-focused woodland management, and native grassland stewardship in partnership with local organisations like Herefordshire Meadows.
And that’s not all. Homme’s midweek weddings take their mission even further…
For couples leaning into the slow-living ethos, Homme’s carefully curated midweek wedding offer is beautiful and brilliantly planet-friendly.
