Hedsor House is an exclusive-use Georgian Stately Home based in Buckinghamshire and has a vibrant history leading to its current custodians – the Shephard family. The team at Hedsor are creative, passionate, professional and exceptional at delivering bespoke wedding celebrations.

Our Venue + Ethos

The house was once famously the home of the Dowager Princess of Wales, mother of George III and the founder of Kew Gardens. Fascinating diary entries describe how the house regularly welcomed kings, queens and royal children from nearby Windsor Castle. The house sits high above the Thames Valley, amongst 100 acres of parkland, with formal gardens and its herd of Highland cattle. Voted as Tatler and Vogue’s dream wedding venue, it offers complete privacy for a wedding of up to 150 guests.

1934 Hedsor House was generously gifted to Florence and Philip Shephard as a wedding present. Today, the house is led by the fourth generation of Shephards, brothers Nick, Mark and Hamish, who 2008 transformed Hedsor into a wedding and filming venue as they wanted to share the estate with others. The house has indeed been changed throughout the years; however, it still has the same magical feeling it did since the day Florence and Philip moved in long ago.

The Hedsor team is passionate about delivering an exceptional experience for all our couples, from the moment they enquire to the wedding day itself. We love getting to know couples, helping them find the perfect date for their wedding, and guiding them through the whole planning journey. We aim to help every couple feel relaxed, supported, and part of the Hedsor family. Hedsor was originally a family home, and we want all our couples to feel at home with our team on their special day.

Your Wedding Experience

Couples can hire our venue on an exclusive-use basis and have use of the stunning interiors, along with the gardens and our overnight accommodation of 13 bedrooms. We pride ourselves on attention to detail; we know the small touches make the difference, so everything at Hedsor is beautifully delivered and memorable. We constantly update and improve the House and our offering. An example of this is the introduction of our recent Canine Concierge service, which enables couples to bring their family dog to the wedding with them, knowing it will be looked after and as welcome as their other guests.

Our couples receive a bespoke planning experience where they feel excited, relaxed and held each step of the way. We want our brides and grooms to have a wedding day that goes above expectations and creates memories which will last a lifetime.

In addition to loving the venue, be sure to love the team just as much! More often than not, you will be working with your dedicated wedding specialist for 12+ months, so you must feel understood and valued.
