Busbridge Lakes is a hidden jewel situated in a magical valley in the beautiful Surrey Hills, just 1.5 miles from Godalming and the home to one of the largest collection of water birds in the country, wonderfully cared for by Bill’s Mum.

Bill, the owner’s son, is here to tell you a little more about their family estate – This idyllic venue (available from April to October) has only been part of our collection for a few months but it already seems quite the popular spot with our stylish couples!

Oh and if you like what you see, then there are some late availability dates for this year! You can check them out here.

Notes from Busbridge Lakes

Bill says…

Forming a unique backdrop for your special day, and at the centre of the lovely Heritage grade 2A garden at Busbridge Lakes, is an old stone coach-house with an elegant clock tower seated majestically above a cobbled courtyard. The lovely gardens date from the 18th century with a chain of three spring fed lakes, graced with giant carp and surrounded by many mature specimen trees, much flora and fauna and a collection of rare, endangered and exotic birds.

As you plan your day, come and visit, meet our family, bring your own family, friends, photographer and other key participants, to all help plan your day and really make it a truly enchanting experience.

Your Wedding

The day before your wedding, put the finishing touches to your choice of marquee or tipi designed to your personal style and leave relaxed knowing it’s all ready for your celebrations.

Begin your day getting ready in the tranquil coach-house bride’s changing room before your ceremony is held on one of the reception lawns beside the lakes. Meet your guests as they arrive through the arch of the coach-house and turn through the ornate black swans wrought iron gates and out into the magnificent grounds.

As your guests marvel at the views, with cranes and peafowl gracing the lawns, wander off and take advantage of some truly unique photo locations including a Gothic Boathouse, a Doric Temple and a rustic stone bridge spanning the Canal lake.

Then enjoy your celebration in the surrounds of either the formal main lawn of the Canal Lake venue or in the more rustic Cedar Tree venue overlooking the Bottom lake, safe in the knowledge the grounds are exclusively yours.

And your experience does not need to end there, come back and take a quiet stroll around the grounds and capture in time some more memorable photographs. Marvel in the views and reflect that your day helped maintain this stunning collection of birds.
