Gressenhall has a fascinating history – With its Georgian symmetry and distinctive red brick façade, the main building was constructed in 1776 as a House of Industry, to tend to the poor of the local parishes under one roof. As a Victorian Workhouse and then home for the elderly, Gressenhall has evolved over the centuries. Since 1976, it has been the museum of Norfolk Life.
Ceremonies are held in the atmospheric Old Chapel, with its decorative brick patterning, high leaded windows and wooden pews. If you’re looking for something a bit different then the venue are able to offer duo-ceremonies in their gorgeous Centenary Wood, perfect for a magical woodland wedding.
