I’ve been feeling all warm and fuzzy inside for the last few weeks… Why…? Well, it’s all because these pages have been super busy with lots of you looking, browsing and searching for the perfect place to call your wedding venue.
So how are you getting on…? Have you started to plan any recces yet or is that finger still hovering over the ‘Contact Venue’ button…? Or, are there just too many beautiful venues to choose from…? I recently heard that one of our couples had narrowed our small but perfectly formed collection down to a shortlist of ummmm, 40!
So for those of you just discovering us, starting the planning journey or in need of a little nudge in the right direction then this short but sweet article is for you!
For most people, their wedding day might just be the biggest project they take on… For those who aren’t experienced in Project Management / Styling / Floristry / Accountantancy (you get the picture) the whole process can be a little daunting.
Now I do have some experience in managing events and managing people. In a previous life it was kind of my job. But when it came to planning my own day, I too felt a little lost sometimes. So I’d like to help… With one area at least. For many, this will be the first and most important step – The Wedding Venue search.
Below are some fab articles that talk you through the basics, from things to consider when deciding on what style of venue is right for you, through to helpful questions to ask your wedding venue when you visit. Oh, and if it’s still all too much, then you should absolutely take a look at our Bespoke Venue Search Service where we get to play venue hunter on your behalf…

My top things to consider when searching for a wedding venue are…
# 1 Check the fine print – Even try to take a copy of the venues T&C’s away with you on the first visit so you can consider the venue with your heart and your head.
# 2 Venues costs – Ensure you both understand the costs for the venue before signing on the pretty dotted line.
# 3 Get organised – Create a spreadsheet of venues to visit – I think 4 in one day is the max as it can become overwhelming.
# 4 Be careful not to take an entourage on the venue visits – Remember this day is about two people. However feel free to talk to friends and family, it’s a great way of sorting through your own thoughts about each delicious venue you’ve seen!
# 5 Itʼs a man’s world – I’m hoping both the blushing bride and handsome groom are reading this together, because of course the venue decision should absolutely be a joint task. I think every Groom wants to be involved in this part of the wedding planning process. This and the cake, oh and the band.
So enjoy these precious moments folks… and have fun on your super romantic road trips!
Helpful…? I do hope so.
Happy hunting!
Lots of love…
