Aswarby Rectory is a beautiful, exclusive use country house wedding venue situated in stunning open countryside on the edge of the small and attractive Estate village of Aswarby, with traditional parkland at its core. The majority of the properties surrounding it are character listed properties including the Grade I listed St Deny’s church, to which there is a private woodland walk. The décor of the venue is right up my street and I’m not sure if I want to marry in it or live in it… possibly both.
The owners of Aswarby Rectory have given all their love to bring this beautiful venue back to life, and this beautiful shoot created by florist Alicia, at Lily Jayne Florist, was inspired by the venue itself. With an english country wedding vibe and a host of talented Lincolnshire/Nottinghamshire suppliers to boot, it’s a real beauty.
Alicia says…
The concept of the shoot was brought together all around the beautiful new venue that is Aswarby Rectory set in the Lincolnshire countryside. A blank canvas, Aswarby Rectory offers many opportunities for the perfect wedding setting. With many white walls, plenty of character and the most stylish décor, we dressed the venue to complement this, keeping it simple and elegant to really show off the venue.
Although the theme of the shoot was feminine – with delicate silks and light colours – we kept the styling simple to ‘show less is sometimes more’ and weddings don’t have to be over complicated. The shoot was held in spring, with coral and ivory tones keeping things light and airy.

Our model wore ‘Jensen’, part of the White One Collection by St Patrick, a spectacular mermaid style wedding dress in embroidered tulle and lace that combines a sweetheart neckline with an halter illusion neckline. ‘Shirley’ by Maggie Sottero, was equally beautiful with soft lace motifs cascading over tulle in this fit-and-flare wedding dress.
From anemones, to ranunculus and hellebores there is a huge choice in flowers in spring and with Aswarby having the most incredible ceremony room I was really inspired to create a feature of this. The ceremony room was covered with Ivy, as though it has been growing there for years, making the fireplace a perfect feature to say ‘I do’.
The tablescape was kept very simple and pared down with a pop a colour coming from the flowers. The majority of the flowers were British grown, helping create that english country feel. Mauve hand-dyed silks were used to give a delicate finish.
