Introducing the Sami Tipi Domes

by Caitlin Hoare
Images by Jenny Appleton Photography.
Could Sami Tipi’s new domes be the perfect blank canvas micro venue?
We think so! And here’s why…

We’ve seen a handful of domes popping up so far in 2021 but this creative collaboration between Sami Tipi and Tara Knott is the most stylish, intimate solution we’ve spotted for smaller events and elopements so far.

Plain and simple, micro weddings make room for more meaningful moments where you can be present with your partner and this kind of post-ceremony set up would compliment a day like that perfectly. Achingly cool styling, personal touches and beautiful surroundings… the dream!

Notes from Sami Tipi + the Stylist

Jodie, Sami Tipi says…

The Sami Tipi domes were born during lockdown 3.0, as we saw the need to create a space for intimate celebrations including elopements and small family gatherings.

The domes create the perfect dining celebration space for two to six guests, fitting perfectly with restriction numbers.

As we begin to ease out of lockdown we’ve also seen a rise in couples choosing still to get married with lower numbers but have a larger celebration to mark their one year anniversary.

When choosing to marry now with some restrictions still in place, couples do not want their wedding day to go unmarked, choosing to do something special, something that they wouldn’t ordinarily do. The dome fits this need perfectly.

When Tara of Tara Knott Styled Events invited us to be a part of this elopement style shoot, we were thrilled. This gave us the chance to show how special an intimate wedding day can still be. With lots of added WOW it helps bring to life how personable and utterly gorgeous a smaller celebration is.

Tara says…

The Coach House is a stunning venue with incredible style and space for a small wedding or celebration and was a gorgeous setting for an elopement set up. The overall style for the shoot was intimate and modern, opting for a white suit from In the Name of Love Bridal for her and a peach two piece for him.

The venue has an eclectic interior style and so we wanted the styling to compliment this.

We styled the tables with a colour palette of peaches, greens and an abundance of spring florals from Nadia Di Tullio, finished off with coloured candles and linen napkins which created a romantic but intimate dining setting. This worked against the gorgeous green wall and pops of gold gave it a luxe feel.

Outside the courtyard housed a gorgeous Sami Tipi dining dome which was dressed with large florals displays and a table for two.  A great place to have the stunning Bake Ashbourne cake dressed with flowers and a tray of beautifully decorated biscuits.

Jenny Appleton captured the whole shoot and as always created some stunning moments, details and portraits.

Over the day we created a number of different looks for the couple to really showcase how you can still go all out even if your guest numbers are small. An intimate wedding isn’t for everyone, but for some it is perfect.
