Celebrating Autumn with Elmore Court

Written by Emma Hla
Longer nights, golden light, cold weather for more accessories… There are so many reasons why autumn should be crowned wedding season over the summer months, and Team E from Elmore Court are here to give us their top tips on creating the cosiest and most romantic autumnal wedding vibe.

If you’re thinking of hosting your own autumn wedding then you might find their upcoming Autumn Wedding Fayre on Sunday 13th October the perfect place to gather some more inspiration!

Notes from Elmore Court

The perfect venue

For stylish September weddings and rustic October weddings it’s got to be an English country wedding venue… Beautiful views of colourful countryside, the natural confetti of falling leaves, roaring logs fires and comfy sofas; the perfect balance of hygge cosiness and sparkling stately home magic.

We’re a little biased, but we can’t help but think Elmore Court is perfectly suited to the hues and all the feels of these autumn months.

Autumn wedding colours

Your autumn palette is all about creating warmth and cosiness so think plum, burnt orange, pink and red and metallic touches. Basically look to nature for all the inspiration you need! Ensure your venue will compliment your chosen tones. Your setting should harmoniously blend with your wedding décor and vice versa. Oh and make sure to add plenty of candles and fairy lights!

The wedding schedule

A 2pm ceremony is the best timing for an Autumn wedding as the light is golden and gorgeous, you can then move onto your feasting starting after 4pm, and that will leave you perfectly timed for some romantic post dinner sunset snuggles and photo opportunities.

Comfort food & wedding feasts

Autumn weddings have got to be all out on the food, start early – in fact you could even start the day before and hold an intimate pre-wedding dinner party for your nearest and dearest (what could be cosier than that!) – and carry on into the night.

Think long banqueting tables aching under the weight of food and candles.

Warming, comforting food like pies, pizza, polenta, sea bass and sharing platters of braised beef are just perfect. Don’t let the feasting end after dinner! Carry it on way into the night by toasting crumpets and marshmallows round a fire, serving wood fired pizza at midnight or having a huge dessert table full of treats and sweets to nibble on.

Longer nights = more time to party

Don’t forget the dance floor – the longer autumn nights are the perfect excuse to party hard, make the most of this by choosing a venue with a real party vibe where you and your guests can let your hair down.

Put the focus on the dance floor, get a great live band, start the party in a surprising way halfway through dinner, add light up letters, neon signs, fairy lights or dance floor confetti (or all four!)

If you’re sold on an autumnal wedding and want to get planning or gather some more inspiration, pop along to the Autumnal Gathering at Elmore Court (it’s a different kind of wedding fayre!) on Sunday 13th October 2019, plenty more autumn wedspiration awaits.
