Thomas & Clément’s Elegant Château Wedding in France

Ever since Château Glorieux joined the Directory, I have been patiently waiting to see a real wedding here. T + C’s elegant summer celebration did not disappoint!

They enjoyed five, yes five wonderful days of festivities including a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony with the magnificent, romantic château as the backdrop. There were some exceptional outfit choices and a lot of fun had by all! On another note I think Thomas may have written the most spot on piece of wedding advice I’ve ever read in a real wedding feature…

Imperfections are the charm of marriage, enjoy every moment without worrying about the unfolding, live your wedding as if you were invited to it and observe, analyse and contemplate, as it will pass like an eclipse in your life.

Read that again. And then scroll through to soak up all of the delightful details…

Notes from the Couple

Thomas & Clément say…

We wanted a square, symmetrical castle, with a raw, masculine presence, but old-style, made of stone, integrated into the surrounding vegetation and steeped in history but without the bling of a traditional castle. We also needed accommodation for our guests and the accommodation on offer was perfectly suited to the comfortable but chic, luxurious vibe we were looking for.

We wanted original and complementary suits that would reflect our personalities. We therefore selected identical accessories, fabrics and shoes, tailor-made for the occasion. We went for red for Clément and green for me (Thomas). The hairstyles were created by Jonathan Thery Artisan Hairdresser from Old Lille, our native land in the North of France.

We loved the chic English style interiors and dark colours of the vintage-style furniture steeped in the history of the venue. All of the ladies were invited to dress in white. The ladies’ white dresses matched the gentlemen’s white shirts, which looked incredible.

Philippe Bonvoisin, our florist, met our expectations with his floral arrangements. They were rich in colour, and all large in volume, but at the same time discreet. The freshness of the displays allowed us to reuse them during the five following days spent at Château Glorieux.

Sarah Miranville agreed to capture our wedding. We wanted an immortalization of these precious moments transcribed in a slightly faded colour style format, a style similar to old photos found in an attic, memories of a story from another time. We were in a magical setting and wanted the imagery to feel like a friendly family reunion in a grand setting. All this blended perfectly with the atmosphere that reigns at the castle, and forever engraved with this “Moment of Life” which unfortunately passes too quickly – from the project, to the present and then it simply falls into our past!

Best part of the day

We really can’t decide! But if we were forced to choose, then stand-out moments included the intimate side of our gathering in the living room of our suite with our witnesses and our parents. Another favourite memory would be arriving at the aisle in front of the castle to “A Thousand Years”, before heading to the ceremony under the hundred-year-old tree.

From one couple to another…

Imperfections are the charm of marriage, enjoy every moment without worrying about the unfolding, live your wedding as if you were invited to it and observe, analyse and contemplate, as it will pass like an eclipse in your life.
