Every detail was carefully considered, from Izzie’s extra-long lace veil to the minimalist off-white florals and elegant monochrome décor. Their wedding was elegant and classic, yet had just a touch of Wes Anderson nostalgia. Hit play on the film, folks!

From the second we set foot in Thicket Priory, we knew we were somewhere special. The peace and ambience we felt walking through felt so palpable. From the music emanating throughout to the signature Thicket scent, it just felt like a total breath of fresh air to the senses! We were definitely drawn to the feeling of homeliness, and the stunning grounds completely won over Harry’s love of nature. Anna made it feel as if it was our 10th visit, like somewhere we were always supposed to be, and on the big day, it really felt familiar, like home!

My dress was all about feeling like myself – comfortable in my own skin, classic, and timeless. I really wanted to feel like the most elevated version of myself, whilst also being understated and romantic. I’d always imagined having an extra-long lace veil, and it was my veil that ended up being the piece that brought it all together in the most magical way!
We opted for a classic tuxedo for Haz; the aim was sharp and sophisticated, leaning into our timeless theme.

We really wanted the day to feel classic and nostalgic. We recently found one of our early moodboards, which outlined how we envisioned our wedding to feel, and the three words — elegant, timeless, and classic — served as the guiding prompts. We opted for a chic monochrome style with a pop of navy, which became a motif throughout our wedding, a style choice we’re so glad we ran with!

We worked with the wonderful Kate Rose Floral Design!
We had off-white and white florals, paired with lush green foliage, to create an elegant yet earthy and slightly ethereal ambience.
An understated choice for our tables included bud vases filled with a couple of cream or white florals in each. Thicket truly needs no dressing up; it’s beautiful just as it is, so we kept it minimalist, which felt very us!

Our cake was made by Where The Ribbon Ends, and it featured two scrumptious tiers of Biscoff and red velvet in the vintage Lambeth style, which made for truly gorgeous cake-cutting photos – despite us messing up our cake tasting on the day, which was really rather funny!

Where to start with Beans on Toast for Two? Beanie and Josh were truly a dream to work with from start to finish. They captured our day so remarkably, it just felt like we had friends by our side all day! We wanted to feel like our photos were memories, with film grain and an air of glowy nostalgia – they totally delivered!

Standing at the top of the aisle after we made it official, just soaking in the moment with all of our loved ones cheering and tears rolling down our faces!
Also, the quiet moment we had together before heading out for the drinks reception was some much-needed quiet reflection time.

Don’t compare yourselves to others’ planning processes; it is a personal journey! It’s okay to feel “behind” in the planning; everything has its way of coming together in the end.
On the day, be as mindful as possible, and soak in every moment, big and small. And after the wedding, when you get the chance, journal all of those beautiful moments; you won’t want to forget them.
