Hannah & Chris: A Seasonally Inspired Wedding at Rise Hall

After we got engaged, we decided we wanted to get married the following year. We booked viewings at three different venues, and after seeing Rise Hall, we both got back in the car and, without hesitation, said it was perfect for us.

Rise Hall stood out for so many reasons. Firstly, it is a stunning venue, and we also liked that everything was on the same site, including enough rooms for our guests.

We initially loved the idea of an outdoor ceremony, but given that we decided on having an October Wedding, we wanted a venue that would be perfect come rain or shine. With Rise Hall, there are so many beautiful rooms that we wanted to make the most of them! We also liked that Rise Hall was exclusive use over the weekend, so we were not invading another person’s wedding or other arriving after ours.

We knew that the backdrop of Rise Hall in autumn would be fantastic. We have been to so many summer weddings that we liked the idea of an autumn wedding – the lighting was perfect, the colours were great, and we got a perfect sunny autumn day.

Chris went traditional and wore a morning suit; we felt that the morning suits worked perfectly with the venue. Hannah was happy with both her dresses. Her first dress was a timeless strapless gown with a structured bodice and flowing tulle skirt. The second dress was an elegant and sleek satin look with refined detailing.

The bridesmaid dresses were chocolate, and we loved the rich colour, which was perfect for the time of year.

We did not have a theme; however, since it was an autumn wedding, we wanted subtle autumnal colours, with toffees, champagnes, and chocolates in neutral tones. We liked the idea of it feeling both traditional and contemporary. Our florist was Vanessa Jayne Floral Designs.

We upgraded our menu because we couldn’t resist the Beef Wellington. We had Chicken Salad to start, deconstructed Beef Wellington for the main, and a trio of desserts to finish, which went down really well with all our guests. It included Eton Mess, Crème Brule and a Sticky Toffee Pudding.

After tasting the menu at Dine’s head office in Leeds, we were sure we had picked the right one. Many of our guests messaged us the next day saying how great the food was.

Lucy Dennis was our photographer; she was fantastic at capturing our day, and we couldn’t recommend her enough. We have been lucky enough to attend a couple of weddings that Lucy has photographed. Lucy captures natural photos throughout the day and ensures the process is as stress-free as possible for the couple. We love Lucy’s photography style, and it was perfect for us.

We had a content creator called Meg. Both Meg and Lucy worked together to capture the day. Meg was so efficient that she actually sent the video the next day. Everyone has complimented the video, and it has shown parts of the day that neither Hannah nor I had seen.

It is difficult to highlight one section of the day. We enjoyed it all so much. Rise Hall is a stunning venue, and we were very well looked after. The ceremony room looked stunning, and we had such a great time on the dancefloor in the evening. We also absolutely loved the bridal suite, and having the paninis wrapped and left in our room was an especially nice touch.

Our seating plan was a particular highlight and a special touch for the day. For each guest, we had a picture of them with either Hannah or me. On the back, we wrote a thank-you note to them; we kept it secret from the guests and hoped it would be a nice surprise.

Rise Hall allowed us to bring Ronnie (our Dachshund) for some photos after the ceremony.

We also enjoyed the nightcap in the library after the music had finished. It was a really nice way to end the day.

Everyone tells you it goes so fast-“it flies by”-and that it is important to take it all in. We appreciated the team scheduling time for us to spend alone after the ceremony. The team at Rise Hall were outstanding, ensuring that our day ran smoothly. Every small detail was sorted to a tee, making our day extra special.
