Delicious Grazing Stations at The George in Rye!

Written by Emma Hla

It’s probably not ethical to have favourites… But I absolutely do and this venue is one of them!

Prominently positioned in the heart of the medieval town of Rye, East Sussex, and just five minutes from Camber Sands beach, The George is a Grade II listed 4-star hotel and wedding venue. Fusing old-world charm and heritage with contemporary luxuries and first-class dining, the property harmoniously blends old and new to create a welcoming atmosphere that oozes comfort and sophisticated style. I should know, I’ve stayed here!

The venue caters for intimate ceremonies as well as larger parties of up to 120 guests and promises exemplary service, stylish surroundings and the perfect party atmosphere.

Now it’s at this point I should insert some sort of warning… Don’t read this post if you’re feeling a tad peckish! The reason being this iconic hotel and wedding venue – which boasts George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray and John Goodman among its guest clientele – has announced the launch of its ‘Gourmet Grazing Stations.’ A collection of five interactive stalls that are an irresistible feast for the senses.

The grazing stations are available for all weddings at The George from July 2016 and we have a little taster (sorry) for you below…

Wedding Food Stations

Champagne & Oyster Bar

Served outside in the hotel’s idyllic courtyard, the Champagne & Oyster Bar is the perfect welcome for wedding guests and an ideal way to incorporate a touch of Rye’s coastal charm into the day. Fresh oysters are served on a bed of ice and washed down with a glass of Champagne. Price from £5.00 per person.

Who doesn’t love a delicious doughnut..? A fabulously fun way to satisfy the sweet tooth of guests, the Doughnut Deli is a guaranteed conversation starter and can be used as interactive favours or part of the evening munchies. Price from £4.50 per person.

Bubbly Bar

For the prettiest Proseccos, the Bubbly Bar is adorned with everything required to pimp a glass of Prosecco – fresh fruit purees, berries, passion fruit, strawberries, blackberries and swizzle sticks. Price from £2.50 per person supplement on reception drinks.

Charcuterie Stall

An absolute feast for the eyes, the Charcuterie Stall is bursting with rich flavours, colours and textures. Locally sourced cured meats, cheeses, salads, artisan breads and fruit are beautifully presented to provide the ultimate grazing station for guests. Ideal as an evening buffet or midnight munchies option. Price from £12.50 per person.

Patisserie Parlour

The Patisserie Parlour can be set up in any spot within The George’s reception rooms and brings some added wow-factor to the wedding dining experience.
