Adele & Brooke’s Wedding at Caswell House

“Everything, from the aesthetic to the staff, couldn’t have been more perfect…“. Having recently visited Caswell House, I can wholeheartedly agree with Adele and Brooke. They had no reason to look back after viewing this rustic, romantic Oxfordshire gem, complete with classic Cotswold stone buildings, pretty surroundings, and total privacy. Oh, but there’s more: delicious food to indulge in, luxurious accommodation for their nearest and dearest, and a pretty private garden for portraits. Whilst it’s superbly cosy in the colder months, it was budding with life (and blossom!) in early April which is when this gorgeous pair sealed the deal.

Adele & Brooke say…

Caswell House was the second venue we viewed when planning our wedding, and it quickly became the last. The moment we walked into Caswell House, we knew that was where we wanted to get married. Everything, from the aesthetic to the staff, couldn’t have been more perfect.

We opted for a classic and timeless look for our wedding. Without knowing what each other’s dresses looked like, we managed to match perfectly. We had our bridesmaids in black to match our theme, and we are so pleased we did. The pictures are beautiful and so pleasing.

Adele’s dress was by Made with Love Bridal, which she got from a boutique near Hastings called Wild Floral. Brooke’s dress was by Mikaella Bridal. She bought the dress from Pure Couture, Beaconsfield. Both of us had our hair and makeup done by Bridesmade Artistry.

We opted for a minimal look with a black-and-white theme; we also featured lots of candles and fairy lights to make it feel warm and extra special. Our florist was Lizzy from The Flower Story. It took us a long time to find her, but as soon as we did, we knew her style was perfect for the look of our wedding. Lizzy exceeded our expectations, and we have to thank her for her patience while we figured out what we wanted.

We have had so many compliments on the flowers on our wedding day. We went for whites and neutral tones with a tiny pop of deeper neutrals, and we went for lots of movement in our bouquets. We really liked the idea of a ‘meadow’ theme for the ceremony, and Lizzy did exactly that! We were both blown away by the flowers from the moment we walked down the aisle.

Our cake was made and designed by The Pretty Cake Company, Oxford. Again, we wanted to achieve that ‘classic’ look. We had a three-tier buttercream cake decorated with scattered pearls. We chose this as it matched Adele’s veil.

Where to begin? Laura Vieceli Photography was INCREDIBLE—like, honestly, the best. From the moment we met, we got along so well with her. Our engagement shoot was not the easiest, being in London in the middle of Christmas, but she made it work perfectly! The engagement shoot was the perfect opportunity for us to get to know Laura better—we even stopped for a glass of champagne! When the wedding day came around, we felt 100% comfortable with her and how she works.

Laura slotted into our day like a guest at our wedding, and everyone loved her. Her direction was clear and creative, and we never felt pressured or that we were away from our wedding party for too long. Many people say the photos are the worst part of their day, but we genuinely enjoyed these moments. It felt like our chance to take it all in, and it just so happened that Laura was capturing those moments. It’s safe to say we’ll be recommending Laura to absolutely everyone.

Best part of the day

Unexpectedly, the ceremony was our favourite part of the whole day. We were told it goes by so quickly that you barely remember it, but we managed to take it all in and enjoy every second.

We wrote our vows and read them to one another in front of our favourite people. It was funny, emotional, and very special. Everyone told us that it was one of the most emotional weddings they’ve ever attended and that they could feel the love throughout the whole day, which means a lot to us.

From one couple to another…

If anyone questions whether they should write their own vows, do it!!!! It makes your ceremony so much more personal and an opportunity to pour your heart out to the love of your life!

Everyone says it, but take the opportunity to just step back and enjoy the day. All your months of planning have paid off, and you should appreciate that. Remember, it’s your day.
