About
Setting

There is a calm, lakeside setting within 300 acres of private estate at Worstead Park. Surrounded by woodlands, water, and walled gardens, the venue centres around The Woodyard – a restored thatched barn and sawmill, with Norfolk brick buildings and an east-facing courtyard. Outdoor areas include a west-facing terrace, a sunlit lawn, and a lake island accessed by rowing boat.

Ceremony

There are several ceremony options across the estate:

  • The Thatched Barn offers an intimate indoor setting, with vaulted ceilings, soft lighting, and warm brick and timber finishes.
  • The Mulberry Room is a brighter, more contemporary space, ideal for those who prefer a clean, modern feel.
  • The Lake Island provides a memorable outdoor location, complete with a summerhouse backdrop and a wooden rowing boat for a scenic arrival.
Reception

There are two main indoor reception spaces:

  • The Thatched Barn: Perfect for evening celebrations, dancing, and after-dinner drinks on the west terrace.
  • The Mulberry Room: A versatile space for a seated meal, styled to suit your preferences.

Both rooms can be used interchangeably, and each opens out onto the grounds. Outdoor areas offer space for drinks receptions, garden games, and photographs. Up to 120 guests can be seated for dinner.

Accommodation

Worstead Estate offers weekend accommodation for up to 42 guests, with space for 27 guests across the estate itself. Each cottage is fully self-catered, with:

  • Spacious lounges and open-plan kitchens
  • Wood-burning stoves
  • Private hot tubs and BBQ areas
  • Games rooms and outdoor seating

Couples have first choice of estate properties, and the event team can guide you through the options.

Food & Drink

The on-site bar is fully stocked and licensed, staffed by East Coast Bars. Guests can also enjoy Wildcraft Brewery beer, brewed on the estate using traditional cropping methods and homegrown spring barley.

Getting There

There is on-site parking for up to 50 cars, including designated spaces for guests with disabilities. The venue is easily accessible for visitors.

It was the perfect venue for the perfect day! We fell in love with it from the start. The grounds are spectacular, and the daffodils are in full force in spring time, which is a real added treat. Emily is so on the ball as a wedding coordinator and doesn’t miss a trick or a leave a stone unturned! We would recommend every time if you’re looking for a stunning venue with someone who knows exactly what they’re doing.

My husband and I had our wedding at Worstead last week, and it was honestly the most wonderful weekend of our lives!

The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous – we have received so many positively blooming compliments about the venue itself, from the relaxing countryside feel to the intimacy of only having two rooms but still enough space for lots of guests, to the enjoyment people had playing football and lawn games on the grass area, and obviously about the absolute beauty which is the lake situated near the barn.

It is a perfect venue if couples don’t want to spend lots of time and money decorating a venue, as it is just gorgeous, exactly how it is! A beautifully converted barn with wonderful brickwork but a warm feel, an intimate bar, toilets and changing facilities, disabled access and a huge room to dine in, which worked wonders in the evening for a quiet space for guests who wanted a little time out from the disco!

Marie, the venue manager, was an absolute delight to work with, making suggestions as we set up the venue the day before, which we never would’ve thought of ourselves and made the day run so smoothly. However she didn’t feel like a manager on the big day, she felt like a guest and a friend who was just as excited about our day as we were!

Myself and my bridesmaids stayed the night before at the estate cottage on site, which was just a perfect place to relax the night before the wedding and get ready the morning of.
I cannot recommend Worstead enough, we wish we could do our day all over again and it just wouldn’t have been the same at any other venue!

The venue is absolutely stunning! Amazing grounds, high-spec facilities, and a beautiful location. Emily, who manages the venue, was a dream to work with from the very beginning. We live in New Zealand, so having someone as professional, experienced, and organised as Emily made for an entirely seamless process, even from the other side of the world. We could not recommend this venue highly enough.

My wife and I got married at Worstead Estate, and it was honestly the most incredible day of our lives. We stayed all week prior to the wedding in the stunning estate cottage which was amazing, we could store wedding props in their huge garage ready for the setup. The hot tub was incredible, and the cottage itself was immaculate. Me and my groomsmen stayed in the newly renovated Gatehouse North which was also top drawer! A short walk to the venue the morning of the wedding helped calm nerves with the amazing field views. I cannot recommend this place enough. They’re always there if you need anything and made sure our day flowed smoothly, big shoutout to Marie and Emily who helped us along the way.

We will be back to enjoy it as a weekend away. 5 stars, without doubt.

The venue is beautiful and finished to a really high spec, and the grounds of the venue are amazing, with lots of green outside space and a lake and island which makes the venue feel really secluded. The venue manager Emily was fantastic to work with from beginning to end, and made the planning process really straightforward. Emily was professional, organised and really accommodating, allowing us to add personal touches to the decoration and organisation which made the day really special. We would very much recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a really unique venue.

Worstead Estate was the best wedding venue for us, the setting is just stunning and so quaint. We wanted somewhere that offered indoor and outdoor options because the weather is unpredictable, and it was definitely the right choice; it met all of our requirements! Our guests couldn’t get over the serine surrounds. Marie was so helpful in the build up to the day with regular contact to make sure we were all on the same page. On the day, Marie was so great at making the day run so smoothly, which meant we could relax and enjoy the day knowing it was all taken care of. The Sunday after was amazing; they had organised all of our decorations and belongings for an easy pickup. We are so happy we chose Worstead Estate and will be recommending it to others.

Thank you once again for a great weekend and all of your help in pulling it together & coordinating the day to ensure it all went so smoothly. We’ve had so many messages saying how lovely the venue was and how well managed it was by you on the day. It’s just a shame it’s all over so quickly, but we had a such a wonderful time and memories that will last a lifetime.

Worstead is beautiful, and the accommodation is stunning. Holly House is next level. We had hoped for an outdoor wedding, and the weather let us down, but honestly, as cliche as it is, it didn’t matter. Along with the venue manager, Marie, and grounds manager, Steve, prepping for every eventuality. We were allowed in the venue a couple of days before, which really made a difference to us in terms of setting things up and feeling a bit more calm about all the prep. It was such a smooth and joyful day, and I know this was down to how much went on behind the scenes. No ask was too big. I’m a very organised/particular bride and I was so grateful for all the attention to detail that this venue helped with. Marie, the venue manager, is calm, kind, fun, and so organised. She even came to see me the morning of to check I was ok because I had been feeling anxious. You will be in such safe hands at this venue, and it is beautiful, come rain or shine. Totally recommend staying the night after the wedding for some hot tub R&R and reminiscing. Huge thanks and love.

FAQs
Can we choose our own caterers?

We have a selection of hand-picked caterers for you to choose from. Our caterers have been selected on merit for their professionalism and expertise. Your caterer will be responsible for running your wedding day, keeping to the schedule you agreed with them, and pouring and serving all food and drinks throughout the day. If you would like to choose outside of this list, they will need to be a registered catering company with a 5-star hygiene rating and be able to provide proof of public liability insurance.

Can we provide our own wines and toasting drinks?

Yes. You can provide your own drinks for the wedding breakfast, speeches and reception drinks. Alternatively, drinks can be pre-ordered from our in house bar provider - East Coast Bars and will be available ahead of time for your caterers to prepare and serve.

Can we hire music and entertainment for our wedding day?

There are high-quality sound systems in both the ceremony room and the main barn. We are fully licensed for live music. Bands can play until 11pm and DJs until 11:30pm. We ask that all band and DJ equipment be PAT tested. The integrated audio system throughout The Woodyard also amplifies speeches and background music during the ceremony and afternoon reception if needed. Unamplified music outside the venue (e.g. during your reception drinks on the West Terrace) is also permitted.

Can I include our pet in our wedding?

Worstead Estate is pet friendly, meaning you can have your favourite four-legged friend with you on your wedding day.
