We are delighted to be able to show couples around Woodberry Wetlands in person again. If you’d like to arrange a site visit, please do let us know and we can check our diary for you. If you would feel more comfortable chatting over a video call, this is of course not a problem at all. Although masks are no longer essential indoors, we ask if couples could let us know prior to their wedding day if they would prefer staff to wear masks when inside the building.
Managed by the London Wildlife Trust, Woodberry Wetlands was opened by Sir David Attenborough in 2016, having previously been known as Stoke Newington East Reservoir. The Coal House, a 19th Century Grade II Listed building, has been lovingly restored to provide an incredible setting for your special day.
A short distance from central London, with Manor House tube station located just a 5 minute walk away, the reserve is easily accessible for guests coming from London or further afield.
Overlooking the calm waters of the reservoir, The Coal House provides a light and intimate space to gather your friends and family together. Guests can grab a glass of bubbly on their way up the boardwalk, overlooking the grand East Reservoir.
The Coal House is a fully licenced venue for weddings and civil partnership ceremonies for up to 80 guests, or alternatively take advantage of the stunning views and say I do on the lawn. There is the option to enjoy a drink up on the rooftop patio, or under the awning on the Terrace.
Whether you’re looking for a banquet or street food, traditional seated dinner or a more relaxed, casual dining option their list of approved caterers will be able to assist you with every detail. Come evening, The Coal House can be turned into a vibrant party space where you dance the night away to your favourite live band or DJ.
If you’re looking to enjoy all the wonderful benefits of nature whilst remaining in London, Woodberry Wetlands is your ideal wedding venue.
We are delighted to be able to close the site for full day hire 6 times a year. This would give you access for set up from 10:00, with guest arrival from midday and guests departed by midnight. Please get in touch with our events team if this is something you would like more information on.
Sadly, as The Coal House operates as a café during the day and is open to the public, we are unable to allow set up outside of your agreed hire timings. We are however able to take in a small box of decorations to store before your wedding day.
The bar is run by The Coal House who can also offer a range of drinks packages for your wedding day. If you did have a specific wine or Champagne in mind, we would be more than happy to chill and serve this for you for an additional corkage fee.
All decoration and set up will need to taken offsite as soon as the event has finished, as the reserve will then open back up to the public the following day.
It is possible to apply for a late license for an additional fee, which will give a one hour extension to your evening. We will need a minimum of 4 weeks notice to process this and cannot guarantee this being approved.
