Set within a working family farm in the heart of rural Wiltshire, Wick Bottom Barn sits among the rolling landscape of the North Wessex Downs. The barn is surrounded by four acres of private grassland, giving couples space to shape the day as they wish – from outdoor ceremonies to lawn games or glamping under wide, open skies.
Lovingly restored, the barn retains its original character while introducing subtle, contemporary touches. Timber beams frame the space overhead, while a large open fireplace anchors one end of the room, adding warmth and atmosphere as the light fades. A courtyard connects the barn to additional covered areas, creating a natural flow between indoors and out. The setting feels grounded and unspoilt, offering privacy without isolation.
Wick Bottom Barn does not hold a wedding licence, but couples are warmly welcomed to host celebrant-led ceremonies either inside the barn or outdoors on the surrounding grassland.
Inside, the open-plan layout allows you to position your aisle and seating as you choose, whether that’s long and linear beneath the beams or gathered more closely around you. Outside, the four-acre grounds provide a wide, uninterrupted backdrop of Wiltshire countryside – ideal for those drawn to open-air vows and expansive views.
As a proudly dry hire venue, Wick Bottom Barn offers rare freedom. There are no fixed packages, no preferred supplier lists, and no corkage charges. Instead, you are invited to curate your day from the ground up – choosing your caterers, florals, furniture, lighting and layout to suit your vision.
The main barn easily transforms from dining space to dance floor. A stage area can be set at one end for a live band or DJ, while the fireplace adds depth and warmth as evening draws in. The separate bar barn, positioned just off the courtyard, includes a bar counter, a champagne sink, and a storage area, creating additional covered space for drinks and gathering.
Exclusive use of the barn and grounds ensures privacy throughout. It is your celebration, held entirely on your own terms.
Wick Bottom Barn does not offer on-site accommodation, allowing full focus to remain on the celebration itself.
Its location in the Wiltshire countryside places guests within easy reach of nearby towns, offering a range of places to stay to suit different styles and budgets. Couples are free to arrange accommodation that fits their plans, whether that’s a countryside inn, a town-centre hotel or glamping within the grounds, subject to their own arrangements.
A dedicated catering preparation kitchen is available for your chosen team, complete with power and lighting to support professional service. Outside, additional electric hook-ups allow for street food vendors or chiller trailers, opening up further possibilities for relaxed or festival-style dining.
While you are welcome to appoint any caterer, the team can share details of suppliers who have previously worked at the barn. Included within the hire are 120 oak cross-back chairs and 20 trestle tables, forming a considered foundation for your dining layout.
The separate bar barn provides a practical and sociable drinks space, with a bar counter, champagne sink and storage. From long-table feasts to late-night cocktails, the structure is in place; but the style is yours to define.
