Set across 320 private acres in the Cotswolds, Gulliver’s Hall is an elegant familial estate that is part of the Unique Homestays wedding venue collection. A mile-long avenue of chestnut trees leads to the stone wedding barn, surrounded by wildflower meadows, gardens, woodland, and a garden featuring Giacometti-style bronze statues; a landscape that offers endless opportunities for photography. The main house is rich with art, history and a sense of English eclecticism. Think stained glass windows and four-poster beds.
The estate offers different options for the ceremony. Couples can opt for a humanist wedding in the historic stone barn, complete with vaulted ceilings with original timber beams. Alternatively, they might choose a blessing in the wildflower gardens, surrounded by blooming flora.
The wedding barn features bar facilities and a fully stocked catering kitchen. Here, guests can dine around banqueting tables festooned with seasonal blooms, and dance late into the night. Alternatively, couples might hire Neapolitan pizzaiolos to whip up a relaxed al fresco feast, followed by a silent disco in the garden. The estate’s owners, a garden designer and the founder of a forest education enterprise, have infused the property with a love of nature and a playful eccentricity.
When the night draws to a close, overnight guests can choose from seven bedrooms in the main house or three modern bedrooms in the pool house. An outdoor pool (open from April to October), sauna and steam room are also at their disposal.
