Thornbury Castle was the absolute perfect wedding venue for us. I am an American woman who married a British guy, and of course, getting married in a castle was like a dream.

The venue is absolutely breathtaking and has incredible opportunities for wedding photos. Additionally, the staff were absolutely fantastic. The hotel manager did a great deal of the work and did an absolutely fantastic job both before with the planning and on the day. I would absolutely recommend this venue.

We are not accustomed to staying in hotel rooms with a £400+/night price tag, but if you are going to spend that sort of money, Thornbury Castle is a pretty good choice.

Fortunately for us, we didn’t have to pay for our room since we were attending our daughter’s wedding, and as part of the wedding package, the hotel included six guest rooms plus the sumptuous bridal suite. Wedding packages are costly, but given everything included, we felt it represented very good value for money for such an upmarket location. Charlotte’s wedding coordinator was excellent at ensuring that everything worked perfectly.

Our room was on the ground floor (though it did have a couple of steps) since my wife can’t manage stairs and was huge and comfortably furnished; the bathroom was as large as the lounge in our house! In the morning, we enjoyed a freshly cooked breakfast with a communal table arranged for the wedding guests.
