Open fields surround Thetford Farm Barn, a restored Grade II listed wedding venue on a family-run estate in the South Lincolnshire countryside. Historic oak beams and brickwork give the barns their character, while contemporary details bring a considered finish to the rural setting.

Exclusive use begins the day before the wedding and continues until the following morning. Throughout that time, the entire venue and grounds belong to one wedding party, with no shared areas or overlapping events. That privacy extends beyond the ceremony and reception, allowing couples to settle in before the celebrations and spend time with family and friends before the final farewells.

Three ceremony settings offer a choice between the shelter of the barns, an enclosed courtyard and the open skies of the Wildflower Meadow.

Inside, the Granary Barn seats up to 180 guests beneath soaring ceilings and historic oak beams. The room’s scale and its long aisle give the entrance a sense of occasion.

For an outdoor ceremony, the Wildflower Meadow surrounds the gathering with seasonal flowers, soft grass, and the sounds of the surrounding countryside. The Enclosed Courtyard offers another outdoor option, with historic brickwork and barn architecture framing a more intimate, sheltered setting.

As daylight fades, candlelight and soft lighting change the mood. Conversation gathers around the bar, the dance floor fills, and the evening takes on a different energy. Couples can choose a live band, a DJ or a smaller celebration with their closest people; from the first dance to the final song, the setting keeps the people and the celebration at its centre, with space for both lively company and quieter conversations.

Georgia and the wedding team oversee the celebrations with a thoughtful, attentive approach, looking after the details that support the day. Their involvement gives couples a consistent point of support across the preparations and the wedding itself.

A short distance from the venue, The Stables and two apartments, The Filly and The Farrier, accommodate up to 25 guests between them. These nearby options give wedding parties, family and friends a comfortable base close to the celebrations.

For larger guest lists, the team can share details of further recommended accommodation in the local area, helping guests find a suitable place to stay.

The wedding morning has its own dedicated spaces at the barn. A bespoke suite provides a place to get ready, while the Hayloft offers a relaxed spot for a drink and a game of pool before the ceremony.

Thetford Farm Barn works with trusted catering partners to offer several approaches to the wedding meal. Three-course dining suits a more formal gathering, while sharing feasts and grazing tables bring a sociable feel to the table. Later, street food offers another way to feed guests during the evening celebrations. Catering partners develop menus around the couple’s tastes and preferred dining style.

The venue serves all drinks in-house, with professionally staffed bars covering arrival drinks, table wine, toasts and evening cocktails. A selection of drink packages and bar options gives couples a starting point, with bespoke packages available for those who would like to include a favourite drink or signature cocktail.

Thetford Farm Barn sits within a working arable farm, where the estate continues to look for ways to develop its sustainability efforts alongside its farming and wedding activities.

Guests arriving by electric vehicle can charge at the venue’s car park, allowing cars to recharge during the celebrations.

The historic Georgian market town of Stamford lies a short drive from Thetford Farm Estate, offering a nearby destination for guests spending extra time in the area.

The estate also runs The White Horse Baston, a country pub serving fresh, seasonal dishes. It offers somewhere to gather beyond the barn, whether for a meal before the wedding or time together afterwards.

The pub can provide dinner the night before and breakfast the following day, extending the celebrations around the main event. For couples bringing family and friends together from different places, it’s a great way to extend the gathering.

Thetford Farm Barn occupies private estate grounds less than ten miles from both Stamford and Peterborough railway stations. These nearby stations provide options for guests travelling by train, while the venue is within reach of London, Leicester, Cambridge and Lincoln.

An on-site car park accommodates up to 120 cars and includes electric vehicle charging points.

The venue welcomes a wide range of arrivals, including tractors, buses, and helicopters.
