The Wood Norton offers sweeping views over the River Avon and Vale of Evesham, framed by the Cotswolds to the south, Bredon Hill to the west, and the Malverns to the north. Originally built in 1897 for exiled European royalty, the main hall is a striking example of high Victorian opulence. Formal gardens, designed in the parterre style, provide a picturesque setting for outdoor ceremonies, drinks receptions, and wedding photography. Inside, the hall seamlessly blends its historic charm with contemporary furnishings, following a complete renovation in 2012. Wood paneling and intricate carvings feature in the ground floor spaces and state bedrooms.
Wedding ceremonies can take place in three licensed locations: the Outdoor Wedding Pavilion, the Garden Balustrade, or the Fleur de Lys Room, which offers views of the Worcestershire countryside. Whether planning an intimate gathering or a larger celebration, The Wood Norton provides a setting that suits any vision.
The Orangery, with its glass frontage and elevated position overlooking the gardens, provides a stunning space for wedding receptions. It can accommodate up to 120 guests for a seated meal and 150 for an evening celebration. Drink receptions can be hosted on the South Terrace or in the elegant wood-panelled lounges.
The Wood Norton offers 50 bedrooms, including 30 in the Pear Tree Mews and 20 in the Main Hall. These include Executive, Deluxe, Feature, and Grand Suite rooms. Up to 30 rooms are reservable at a special wedding rate. Upon request, exclusive use of the venue can be arranged.
The award-winning Fleur de Lys Restaurant ensures a memorable dining experience. It offers a three-or four-course wedding breakfast, canapés, cheese boards, petit fours, and evening buffets. A complimentary menu tasting is included. The wedding package also includes a drinks reception, a three-course meal, half a bottle of wine per person, and a drink for toasting. The chef can create bespoke menus in consultation with the couple.
Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, The Wood Norton is a gateway to historic towns, stunning countryside, and local attractions. The Cotswolds, Stratford-upon-Avon, Cheltenham, Bath, Worcester, and the Malvern Hills are all within easy reach. Visitors can explore gardens, vineyards, castles, and picturesque villages.
