The Walled Garden

Set within the Dalmeny Estate near South Queensferry, The Walled Garden, with its high stone walls, was originally built in the 19th century. Inside, spaliered fruit trees line the walls, seasonal planting brings colour and texture, and open lawns offer room to gather.

A restored teak glasshouse sits at the heart of the garden, adding structure to the softer planting. Paths move easily between spaces, with views that stretch out towards the Firth of Forth in the distance. The result is a setting that feels private whilst open to the skies, with a natural flow that supports both quiet moments and joyful celebration.

The glasshouse offers a light-filled indoor setting, where its tall panes and simple structure create a calm, considered backdrop for year-round vows. It works equally well for smaller gatherings or as a contingency when the weather turns.

Catering at The Walled Garden is led by the Rosebery Estates culinary team, known across Scotland for their work at private events. Their approach is tailored rather than fixed, with menus created in collaboration with each couple.

Seasonality guides the offering, with ingredients sourced locally where possible. This allows menus to reflect both the time of year and the setting, whether that leans towards lighter, outdoor dining or something more structured within the glasshouse.
