About

The Setting

Set amongst paddocks and fields of barley, oats and wheat, The Ridgeway Barns is at the heart of a working farm in the beautiful North Wessex Downs, with far-reaching views across rolling hills and the ancient Ridgeway trail. Gather with friends and family in the spacious Georgian farmhouse, make the most of the stunning views during your ceremony under their oak-framed gazebo, enjoy reception drinks on the expansive lawns, then party the night away in the 19th-century threshing barn or even a marquee of your choice.

Despite its rural Wiltshire setting, the venue benefits from excellent transport links to London, the South West, and beyond. It is only a five-minute drive from junction 15 of the M4 and less than 15 minutes from national rail links.

The Vibe

Whether you are after a rustic barn, bohemian festival or grand floral design, The Ridgeway Barns is a beautiful backdrop for you to style to suit your tastes. From your initial enquiry and first viewing, their dedicated events team will guide you through your wedding planning journey, providing expert advice and recommendations and working with you to help curate the day of your dreams. They will liaise with your suppliers before your wedding and provide on-the-day coordination so you can truly relax and make the most of your day. Before and during your celebrations, their team does its utmost to create a relaxed and fun atmosphere, ensuring every detail is anticipated in advance and nothing is too much trouble.

The Ridgeway Barns are licensed for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies, so whether you are after an intimate ceremony in the farmhouse (up to 24), a larger celebration in the barn (up to 100 seated), or an outdoor ceremony under the oak-framed gazebo (up to 120), the choice is yours. Or, if you prefer a church wedding, some lovely village churches are nearby.

Following your ceremony, why not host your guest for a drinks reception in the garden, making the most of the stunning views across the North Wessex Downs? Pause for a photo in front of the Georgian farmhouse, take in the scent of the climbing wisteria and rose gardens, or play a round of croquet on the lawn. The bar will be open, and their staff will ensure your guests have their glasses charged with drinks of your choice.

You are free to choose your own caterers and other suppliers, so when it comes to food, the world is your oyster! From street food, bowl food and buffets to table service and fine dining, The Ridgeway Barns can certainly provide a recommendation to suit your taste. Choose round tables for sharing platters, long banquet tables to take everyone together, and rustic cross-back or chic Chiavari chairs.

After dinner, watch the sunset, gather around the fire pit with one of their local ales or gins, and party the night away, safe in the knowledge that your accommodation is just a short walk away. And if one day just isn’t enough, why not invite your guests back for brunch or a BBQ the following day?
