Set within the rolling countryside of the North Wessex Downs, The Retreat at Elcot Park is surrounded by landscaped gardens, mature parkland and far-reaching rural views, giving couples and their guests plenty of space to settle in and enjoy their surroundings.
There’s plenty to do beyond the wedding itself, too. Guests can spend time by the outdoor swimming pool and hot tubs, play padel or croquet, or retreat to the hotel’s yoga sanctuary. It all lends itself particularly well to a wedding that extends beyond the day itself, with time to relax and catch up before and after the celebrations.
The Retreat at Elcot Park offers several spaces for your ceremony, giving you the option to marry indoors or out.
Filled with natural light, the Orangery is a flexible setting that can be arranged in a number of ways, while the hand-painted Portobello Room brings a more intimate feel. The Oyster Room is another option for smaller ceremonies.
Larger ceremonies can take place in the Secret Garden marquee, while outdoor spaces within the grounds offer a lovely setting for exchanging vows in the open air.
The Retreat at Elcot Park offers a choice of reception spaces, from intimate dinners to larger celebrations. The Orangery can host up to 80 guests for the wedding breakfast and 100 for the evening, while the Portobello Room is a more intimate option for up to 25. For larger weddings, the Secret Garden marquee accommodates up to 140 guests for dining and 200 for the evening.
There’s flexibility in how each space is arranged, whether you prefer classic round tables or long, feasting-style tables with sharing plates. Live bands and DJs are welcome, with plenty of room for dancing, drinks and the evening celebrations.
With 55 beautifully appointed bedrooms, three elegant suites and seven boutique cottages, there are a variety of options for couples and their guests to relax, unwind and make the most of a wonderful wedding weekend.
The Percy Shelley Suite provides the perfect setting for pre-wedding preparations, offering a beautiful space to get ready before walking down the aisle. After the celebrations, guests can enjoy access to the spa included with wedding bedroom rates, then come together the following morning for a delicious hot breakfast.
With preferential bedroom rates available for wedding guests, staying on-site allows everyone to continue the celebrations and savour more time together. For couples choosing one of the venue’s more comprehensive wedding packages, a suite stay is included.
Food is an important part of any celebration at The Retreat at Elcot Park, with menus designed around the seasons and the best ingredients available. From canapés and champagne to the wedding breakfast and evening food, the kitchen team takes care of every stage of the day.
Couples can work with the team to choose a menu that suits their plans, with plenty of flexibility for different tastes and dietary requirements. Carefully chosen wines and drinks complete the offering, making good food and generous hospitality very much part of the experience.
Set between the market towns of Hungerford and Newbury, The Retreat at Elcot Park feels wonderfully rural yet easy to reach; good rail connections from London, the nearby M4, and two large car parks provide plenty of space for guests travelling by car.
