The Old Kent Barn lies in the rural Kent countryside, within the quaint village of Swingfield, close to Canterbury and Folkestone. The venue encompasses two barns set amidst three acres of meticulously maintained grounds and farmland. Highlights include a wilding water garden, an illuminated orchard, and a wisteria-lined aisle.
Couples may exchange vows in a romantic rose-garden setting or the stunning oak-framed barn. Each option provides a memorable backdrop for saying “I do.”
Receptions are hosted within the light and airy open-plan New Barn. The French-oak beams are softened with ivory draping, chandeliers nestled within tall ceilings, and the Italian porcelain floor lends itself to a neutral aesthetic, a space for all styles and designs. Additional venue features include an air-temperature controlled barn, ambient in all seasons and all weathers. Acoustic sound-sound speakers within the barn and grounds play seamless soundtracks.
Dine with between 20 and 150 day guests and host up to 250 guests for evening celebrations. Couples have full use of the landscaped grounds for post-ceremony celebrations and glowing evenings.
The Old Barn features five boutique bedrooms with contemporary designs and historic barn characteristics. The Oak Suite is complimentary for couples to stay overnight after their weddings. Couples have excluisive use of the barn and can optionally add guests’ rooms.
The Old Kent Barn Kitchen and team are dedicated to creating restaurant-quality food. Hearty yet refined dishes designed with sustainable and locally sourced produce. From cosmopolitan cocktails to English wines, you’ll have the flexibility to curate a tailored drink menu.
During the planning process, couples are invited to attend a Tasting Experience. This allows them to preview the menus and wine pairings in a setting designed to replicate the wedding day. The experience also includes seasonal styling suggestions, sommelier guidance, and curated entertainment options, making it an integral part of the planning journey.
The venue is conveniently located close to the rejuvenated coastal town of Folkestone and the historic city of Canterbury, offering opportunities for charming city breaks or seaside getaways.
Just an hour’s drive from London, the venue is accessible via the M20, M2, and A2 motorways. Two train stations serve Folkestone, with taxis readily available for the short journey to the barn.
