Wild Berry Farm is a private family estate spanning 350 acres of North Bedfordshire countryside. The Lakeside, one of the farm’s most picturesque meadows, offers uninterrupted views over a vast lake and open fields. Lush river meadows and woodland surround the water’s edge, creating a breathtaking natural backdrop.
The Lakeside is not licensed for legal ceremonies, but couples can exchange vows in a setting of their choice, whether lakeside or within their selected structure. The venue connects couples with experienced celebrants who can create a unique and personal ceremony. There are no restrictions on music, readings, or personal touches, including pets or drinks! The venue’s team will arrange seating, manage music, and coordinate with the celebrant to ensure a smooth processional entrance. There is no additional charge for holding a ceremony at The Lakeside.
Following the ceremony, guests can enjoy an alfresco drinks reception overlooking the lake or within a chosen structure. The front-of-house team will circulate drinks and canapés as guests explore the wildflower meadows and lakeside jetty. Lounge seating and shaded structures can be arranged for your guest’s comfort, and there is ample space for entertainment.
The Sun Inn, the estate’s 17th-century thatched pub, offers two luxury suites.
Lakeside couples receive priority booking and an exclusive second-night discount.
The Sun Inn’s award-winning team provides in-house catering with a bespoke menu tailored to each couple. Options range from fine dining to sharing feasts, including a complimentary tasting. Executive Chef Pete, formerly a private chef for the Duke of Bedford, ensures a high standard of dining.
Drinks packages can be fully customised, or couples can provide their own for a service charge. A staffed indoor bar is included, with draught options available. Couples may also arrange a bespoke bar counter and hire a mixologist for cocktail service.
While in-house catering is required for the wedding breakfast, food trucks and external caterers are permitted after 6:30pm.
The estate prioritises sustainable farming and conservation. Native tree planting, meadow restoration, and wildlife-friendly practices ensure that the landscape thrives. The venue hosts a limited number of weddings each year, allowing the land to return to nature in the off-season. Livestock, including rare-breed cattle, pigs, and poultry, are ethically raised, with much of the produce supplied to The Sun Inn.
Radwell and Felmersham, two nearby villages, offer charm and countryside activities. Felmersham features a 13th-century church, a historic tithe barn, and scenic river access popular for kayaking and paddleboarding. The surrounding villages of Sharnbrook, Turvey, and Milton Ernest provide additional accommodation, farm shops, cafés, and boutique hotels, making it an ideal location for an extended stay.
Located between Radwell and Felmersham, The Lakeside is both secluded and well-connected. Bedford, just seven miles away, provides direct train links to London, Luton Airport, and Gatwick Airport. The venue is within a 30-minute drive of the M1 and A1, ensuring easy access for guests.
