The Setting
The Inn at Whitewell is located on the River Hodder in the Forest of Bowland, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Inn is home to beautiful riverside gardens, a flower meadow, a kitchen garden, orchard and stepping stones over the river. Adjoining the property is St Michael’s Whitewell, a large country church.
The Inn can be found 7 miles from Clitheroe and 18 miles from both Preston and Lancaster Stations. They also have a grass helipad on site.
The Vibe
The Inn at Whitewell is an award-winning country inn famous for their bedrooms, delicious locally sourced food and their own on-site vintners.
Their experienced wedding and party team are on hand from the moment you first step into the inn all the way through to your special day. Their traditional marquee, the perfect venue for a glamorous wedding, is light and airy with spectacular views of the River Hodder and the rural valley. Glass doors lead to a balcony overlooking the river, and a beautiful riverside garden with outside furniture and fire pits. The marquee can accommodate from 80 – 200 guests.
Within the grounds is St Michael’s Whitewell and can accommodate up to 200 guests for a wedding ceremony. Alternatively the inn is also licensed for civil ceremonies.
They have 25 beautiful bedrooms which are all very different, each featuring stylish fabrics and lovely old furniture. 14 bedrooms have open fires making those winter evenings a little more special, and many of their bathrooms have beautifully restored Victorian cabinet baths.
Their wedding offering, which includes total exclusivity, is only available a few times per year. Couples can enjoy use of the whole inn, both inside and outside, the 25 glamorous and beautiful bedrooms and a separate house by the river, together with tailor-made menus and wine lists. As such they are able to offer a truly bespoke and magical day and night.
