Setting
The Grand Lodge at Oaklands is situated in the heart of rural East Yorkshire, close to the village of Brandesburton and not far from the towns of Driffield and Beverley. Surrounded by 200 acres of woodland and neighbouring countryside, Oaklands provides the perfect setting with stunning views over the lake and endless photo opportunities!
Ceremony
The outdoor Pavilion ceremony area, seating 200, enjoys views over the lake, a peaceful setting to say ‘I do.’ The indoor Lakeside Lodge ceremony room, seating 120, is separate from The Grad Lodge and boasts character and charm.
Reception
With its aesthetically pleasing design, using locally sourced timber cladding, The Grand Lodge blends into its natural surroundings, enhanced by luxury lighting, furniture, and décor. Seating 200 for the wedding breakfast, the space benefits from a large bar, dancefloor, mezzanine floor, general amenities, projector and screen, and state-of-the-art sound system.
Accommodation
Nestled within the 200 acres of woodland, the 14 accommodation lodges are a welcomed addition to the venue. There are ten lodges sleeping two, four family lodges sleeping four and a special honeymoon lodge. They also have a ‘getting ready’ lodge (without a bedroom) used for brides or grooms on the morning of their wedding.
Sustainability
Team Oaklands prioritizes protecting the natural surroundings. To preserve the environment, the team invests a lot of thought, time, and money in finding the best, most green solutions.
The Grand Lodge is constructed using local contractors and locally grown timber to keep its carbon footprint as low as possible and ensure that it blends into its current environment perfectly.
The heating and hot water are produced using the most up-to-date and efficient ground-sourced heat pump. This, combined with state-of-the-art insulation, gives The Grand Lodge an extremely low carbon footprint.
The building’s construction uses approximately 200 trees, which we will replace by planting a new oak woodland, adding to the 150,000 trees already surrounding Oaklands.
Getting There
The Grand Lodge is nestled between Brandesburton and Driffield in rural East Yorkshire. Driffield is just a 10-minute drive away, and Beverley, a larger town, is about 25 minutes away. Both towns have train stations. The Lodge is approximately 12 miles from Beverley via the A135/A165 and 10 minutes from Hutton Cranswick via Rotsea Lane.
