Within its meandering cobbled streets and pretty half-timbered houses, right in the heart of the town’s citadel, resides The George. Effortlessly warm and welcoming the hotel is part-medieval with later Georgian additions. Lovingly restored in 2022, it offers an eclectic mix of quintessential English and contemporary elegance.

Thank you! It really was so special. I’m sure you hear this all the time from your weddings, but we and our guests said it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to. I don’t think it would’ve turned out that way at another venue.
We and our guests had a fantastic time – many said, ‘best wedding ever’. Of course, we agree. Please thank everyone who looked after us all weekend – we could not have asked for more. Thank you also for the little details – they didn’t go unnoticed – and a big thank you to you of course for everything.
You have been AMAZING. Thank you for everything. I’ve so enjoyed working with you – you’re the only thing that kept me sane throughout, and what’s even nicer about it all is that I feel like I’ve made a new friend along the way… THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
Thank you for all your hard work for our wedding. When we viewed the George back in January you painted such a great picture and it lived up to all expectations. I’m sure we will be back lots of times to celebrate our anniversaries.
Honestly, from start to finish it was more than we could have hoped for. The venue, service and food was incredible – we had so many compliments on all it all and we were just so blown away by how everyone went above and beyond to ensure we had the best day. I already know that all of the newlyweds are going to be sending similar messages of thanks for such a magical day. It was truly one to remember.
We can hold celebrant ceremonies, but most couples get married at the Town Hall or Church which are both a 2 min walk around the corner from The George. The Town Crier is a big part of getting married at the Town Hall and unique to Rye.
Yes you can.
Midnight, however guests staying in the hotel are allowed to move to the Dragon Bar till the small hours.
Yes we do.
Yes absolutely, most couples and guests book several nights stay and make a mini break out of the wedding.
