At The Ferry House, food and drink are central to the wedding experience. Dishes showcase ingredients from the Kitchen Garden, family farm, and local Harty estate, all crafted by their 2AA Rosette-awarded chefs. Every dish is designed to showcase the best of what Kent offers, making your wedding feast as memorable as the day itself.
Begin your wedding day with a brunch platter, perfect for calming pre-ceremony nerves. Paired with a glass of bubbles, it’s a lovely way to kick off celebrations while getting ready. You can also treat your guests to welcome drinks like Kentish fizz or signature cocktails, which are made using Copper Rivet Distillery spirits from grain grown on the family farm. Add a cookie table for sweet treats to keep everyone smiling before the main event.
During the drinks reception, guests can enjoy a selection of Kentish fizz, wines, beers, or signature cocktails and mocktails made with local spirits, botanicals, and homemade syrups from the Kitchen Garden. For canapés, indulge in seasonal delights that showcase the best of Harty’s local produce, including Harty beef and freshly picked vegetables from the Kitchen Garden.
For the main event, couples can choose between a traditional three-course meal or a more relaxed Kentish hog roast with all the trimmings. No matter your choice, the focus is always on fresh and local ingredients. All full-day packages include half a bottle of wine per guest, with the option to upgrade to Kentish varieties or add some sparkle with local fizz for your speeches. For a personal touch, you can add alcohol favours to your tables, featuring Kentish spirits like those from Copper Rivet Distillery.
As the evening unfolds, keep your guests fueled for the party with build-you-own food options, bowl foods, or grazing tables. Late-night bites can also be added, ensuring no one goes hungry during the celebrations. If you’re looking for a showstopping cake, consider the signature brownie cake, a unique creation with three deconstructed tiers of chocolate brownie topped with different cheesecake-flavoured frostings.
After a night of celebration, gather your nearest and dearest for a buffet breakfast the next morning. It is a delicious way to continue the festivities before saying your goodbyes.
The Ferry House is more than just a wedding venue – it’s a place you can return to. With regular pop-up dining and tasting events, couples are invited to revisit and relive memories or host other special occasions in the beautiful surroundings that make their wedding day unforgettable.
For couples looking to reduce the environmental impact of their wedding, The Ferry House can help! With a deep connection to the surrounding countryside, sustainability is central to the venue’s ethos, benefiting both the land and the couples who marry there.
Having farmed the land for three generations, the team at The Ferry House takes pride in protecting and preserving it. Their Kitchen Garden is key to this approach, providing fresh, seasonal produce year-round. This homegrown harvest is a cornerstone of their wedding menus, ensuring that ingredients are fresh and locally sourced from the garden to the table.
The venue’s commitment to sustainability extends to its food sourcing. It procures salt-marsh-grazed beef and wild game from its family farm and the surrounding Harty estate, keeping food miles low. This reduces the environmental impact and guarantees the highest quality, locally sourced ingredients for couples and their guests.
In addition, The Ferry House is committed to minimising food waste. They use an on-site composter, turning food waste into nutrient-rich soil to support their gardens. As part of their ongoing sustainability efforts, the venue also features a field of solar panels, working toward powering the whole venue sustainably in the near future.
The Ferry House is more than just a venue. It’s a commitment to celebrating your special day with minimal environmental impact. It offers a beautiful, sustainable setting for weddings that not only honor the occasion but also respect and protect the land.
The Ferry House is easily accessible by car, with direct routes from the M2 and M20 motorways. Guests can enjoy ample parking on-site. For those travelling from London, it’s about a 60-minute drive via the A2 or A20. Public transport options include frequent trains from London to Sittingbourne and a 30-minute taxi or shuttle ride to the venue. International guests can arrive via the Eurostar to Ashford International, 45 minutes away. Major London airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted) are also within 1.5 hour’s drive, with car rental and shuttle services available.
If you drive up to the Ferry House Inn whilst on a search for a wedding venue and your first thought is “this is perfect” then hold onto that thought and don’t bother looking at any other venues because it is perfect. We had the most beautiful wedding day here. All the staff are amazing and nothing seems to phase them – “We have 4 dogs and would like them to be part of the ceremony” no problem. “I want to wear 3 different dresses at different stages of the wedding” no problem. “We have guests with various dietary requirements” no problem. “Members of our wedding party have special needs” no problem. “We want a double decker bus” no problem. “We want to pick our own flowers” no problem. They care so much about your day and do everything in their power to make it happen for you. Special thanks go to Phil, the brilliant Toastmaster and Emily, our wonderful Wedding Planner. It was the best day of my life and I will never forget it.
We got married here on 20th July and I can’t thank Emily and the team enough! We had the most amazing day and nothing was too much trouble. From start to finish everything was just perfect. How they dressed the barn for the wedding breakfast was just so beautiful it blew me away. Phil the toastmaster was just amazing and made sure everything was just perfect and is such a credit to The Ferry House. Thanks Phil! Amazing venue, amazing staff and would highly recommend this beautiful venue.
Our coordinator Sam was simply amazing. She was always on hand with any emails I had, she updated us when she needed to. She really listened to what we wanted and worked her socks off for us. Nothing was too much trouble for Sam, she genuinely wanted our day to be perfect. She set up for us, spoke to us during the evening just to make sure everything was okay. The ‘freebies’ the venue allow you to use are also a great touch! We could not say 1 negative thing!

The FHI will make sure your ideas come to life just the way you imagined and will take care of everything for smooth running of the day. Everything was taken care of for us, it made planning and setting up the day easy. The service was amazing and all staff were attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much effort. The venue had everything we needed and looked beautiful, cosy and warm, perfect for a winter wedding.., and the smell of the fire!
The venue is absolutely stunning, and the staff couldn’t be more helpful! The food is amazing, the accommodation is really lovely, and everything is so well thought out.
If you like an organised event, then the Ferry House is for you. Everything had been thought of, from the decor drop being arranged a week before the wedding to the powder room to get ready in and making sure we had our wedding coordinator’s phone number on the day. The whole day ran smoothly and all the staff were attentive whilst giving us and all our guests privacy.
The staff were more than happy to set up and pack away our decor. The venue even had some free decor you could use on the day, something that is so rare in the wedding industry! Everything extra normally comes with a price tag.
We had a small, intimate wedding, and it was the ideal venue for it. Most of our guests stayed over and we all had breakfast the next morning together, which was a lovely way to end the wedding.
I am so impressed with the whole set-up for weddings at the venue and was surprised it fit well within our budget.
We are both still buzzing from the wedding, and a large part of that is down to the Ferry House team. We were so well looked after, including my 9-month-old nephew, and we will definitely be back for our anniversaries!
Married November 2023
Whilst planning, the whole team were so friendly and professional and couldn’t do more to support our vision for our wedding. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful and was always decorated perfectly to reflect the current seasons. Each planning meeting was well-thought-out and enabled us to think of things we may not have previously! I would recommend anyone to have their wedding or event at The Ferry House.
Married December 2022
The venue looked perfect on our wedding day. The staff arranged everything exactly how we wanted it to be, it couldn’t have looked better even if we had decorated it ourselves! Every aspect of the day went flawlessly, staff were always available to help us and we felt really relaxed because everyone made us feel so at ease (in the lead up to the wedding day as well as on the day itself).
Married July 2023
We had our amazing wedding here on 7th July 2018 and couldn’t have asked for a better day! The team really do the best job, putting in so much hard work but making it seem so effortless! They looked after all the finer details allowing us to relax and enjoy ourselves whilst everything ran smoothly in the background. That’s not even mentioning the location with that view
I literally have nothing to fault about FHI or Mocketts – the venue and the staff are simply fabulous. We were lucky enough to get married here in May this year and everything was perfect! The staff are always so friendly and helpful, I’m pretty sure I drove Emily and Victoria mad with all my emails but they were always so lovely with their responses to me. We live in Essex and travelled down once a month to the venue, even if it was just for some lunch or a drink and we were always welcomed by name. They really do give the personal touch! We stayed at Mocketts the night before the wedding and I got ready there in the morning with the tractor taking me to the venue, what an experience to remember! We got married in their beautiful barn and had our wedding breakfast in the marquee and had the resident DJ for the evening. Guy was our toast master and he was fantastic at keeping the whole day run smoothly. I could talk for hours about how perfect my wedding was. If you get married here I can assure you that you will not be disappointed!
We had a wonderful day, thank you! Thank you so much for your fantastic support on the day, and throughout the whole planning process. Both me and Ian, and all our guests, had a fantastic time and many people have said it was the best wedding they have been to. We couldn’t have asked for a better day!
Married January 2023
Our wedding here was superb. The staff, the venue, the setting, the views, the food, the drinks! Everything was perfect, and all of our guests were amazed at what a real gem this place is. Many of our guests have said they will return to sample a meal or overnight weekend break here. You won’t be disappointed if you choose this venue!
Married June 2023
Every single guest felt that they were well looked after. They felt welcome from the moment they arrived.
The pamper room is an absolute charm to get ready in.
We had an intimate wedding, we didn’t want evening food or a big dance party after. They worked with us to make it as special as it was. I was called a relaxed bride. That was only possible because I knew the staff had everything in hand.
Would definitely recommend the venue.
Married August 2023
We got married here on 17th March 2018 and it was a magical day from start to finish. The venue itself is amazing and we have had so many comments from our guests saying how efficiently the day was run and that they had the best time. From our first meeting last year to the follow up emails after our big day, the service, care and genuine interest that everyone we dealt with through out this has shown is outstanding and a testament to how good a team there is at FHI. We stayed in Mocketts cottage the night before which was superb and then the rooms above the night of the wedding and we can’t fault any of it. You won’t go wrong booking your special day here as it truly will be fantastic.
The venue was a stunning setting for our wedding, and the staff decorated both the barn and event suite perfectly. We really liked having the use of these two separate spaces as well as the outdoor area, to allow for photos with different backdrops, and bring variety to the day for guests. The staff and suppliers on the day were brilliant, and ensured everything ran smoothly. The food was exceptional – all of our guests commented on what a wonderful wedding breakfast it was, and we love that it is locally and organically sourced! Thank you. We were also really keen to have a venue where guests could stay on site or close-by, to allow us to make a weekend of the event. Mocketts Farm and the new coach house was perfect for this.
We had our wonderful wedding at this beautiful venue on 9th February and knew instantly it was the place for us to be married. The venue is just so lovely and has something special about it. The staff were so friendly, helpful and worked so hard to make our wedding flow, we can’t thank you all enough. We are so happy and still on a high, our wedding was just amazing and I truly wish the day didn’t have to end. The Ferry House Inn will always have a special place in our hearts, thank you.
Firstly, our wedding coordinator, “Sam”. She was amazing from start to then our special day. It was lovely meeting Sam in person for all our meetings, and also getting back to us so quickly with any queries we had. The Ferry House team as a whole were all so lovely, such a lovely team and nothing was ever too much trouble. It was the little gestures that went a long way for us. Our wedding day went perfect and everything I could imagine, and that was a massive thanks to the ferry house team.
Married March 2023
We had our wedding here December 2017 and it was amazing! The location speaks for itself, making an excellent backdrop for our photos. They truly do look stunning. You won’t be disappointed with the planning or running of your day either. Every member of staff could not be more helpful or accommodating, ensuring we had a glitch free day. The attention to detail, along with all the other attributes really does make this venue incredible!
Where do we even begin to express our heartfelt gratitude? From the very moment James and I set foot in The Ferry House, we were met with warm smiles and a sense of belonging that instantly captured our hearts. It was clear to us that this was the venue where our dreams would come to life.
Throughout the entire planning process, your team made everything seamless. At every step of the journey, we had someone by our side to help, guide, and support us. Your kindness, care, and exceptional dedication were evident in every interaction we had. You all went above and beyond, ensuring that we felt supported and at ease on our big day.
Words cannot adequately convey the depth of our gratitude for providing us with the most incredible wedding day. Our expectations were not only met but exceeded in every possible way. The flawless execution, the breathtaking grounds, and the exceptional food left us in awe.
More than just a venue, The Ferry House became a warm and welcoming home for our families and friends. Your staff’s outstanding hospitality and the homely atmosphere captured the hearts of everyone present.
The beauty of the grounds was matched only by the incredible dedication of your staff. Each and every one of them is outstanding, going above and beyond to ensure that every detail was perfect. We truly couldn’t have asked for more.
Choosing The Ferry House as our wedding venue was one of the best decisions we made. From day one, you made us feel special, and that feeling continued every minute of our wedding day. We are simply blown away by everything you did for us, and our hearts are filled with love and appreciation.
You made us the happiest couple in the world, and our wedding day was beyond special and unforgettable. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for hosting the wedding of the year and for creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Married August 2023
From start to finish – with covid in between – The Ferry House have been amazing.
Venue and location stunned all our guests, food and drinks were the best at any event we’ve attended. Delicious plentiful and presentation superbly executed. Hotel and cottages can not be faulted. Our wedding planner Jess was flexible, approachable and professional. We felt we were special and important to them – not just another couple getting married. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The planning process and the technology works and prompt replies are so important. Totally stress-free and fun. If you want to wake up the day after your wedding wishing for “Groundhog Day” book it at this venue.

The Ferry House Inn will now be an extremely special place to both of us as we have so many memories here that we will cherish forever. All week we have just been smiling from ear to ear and occasionally laughing about something or other that happened on our wedding day. This was in no small part down to yourself and your team and we are both so, so grateful. Everything ran so smoothly and allowed us to completely relax on the day and really enjoy ourselves.
