Stratton Court Barn is an exclusive-use countryside venue located at Pool Farm, set amidst 70 acres of rolling Oxfordshire countryside. Despite its rural setting, the venue is only 10 minutes from the market town of Bicester, which offers excellent train links to London and Birmingham and is conveniently close to the M40 and A34.
Upon entering the venue via a picturesque tree-lined drive, guests are surrounded by the peace and tranquillity of the countryside. Originally built in 1870, the barn has been thoughtfully refurbished to retain its rustic charm, making it an ideal location for intimate, relaxed, and joyful celebrations.
Whether you’re planning an intimate ceremony and fine-dining experience with your closest friends and family or raising the roof with a large and lavish celebration, a wedding at Stratton Court Barn is a truly exceptional experience.
Stratton Court Barn offers licensed indoor, outdoor and woodland wedding ceremony spaces, providing couples with numerous options for their “I do” moment.
The venue offers Barns, Courtyard, Rose Garden, and Woodland ceremony options, each with exquisite interior design and landscaped grounds. For those who dream of a woodland wedding, the venue’s licensed wedding woodland offers a magical setting. A short stroll across the meadow leads to a copse that forms a natural aisle, guiding couples to an oak-framed hexagon gazebo where vows can be exchanged under a canopy of greenery.
Your reception at Stratton Court Barn is held in a modern and stylish bar area designed for evening celebrations. The space features a glittering granite bar, grey tones, sleek glass, and chrome accents, creating a contemporary atmosphere perfect for dancing into the night-paired with some fabulous cocktails, of course! The venue welcomes you to invite your own wedding DJ, rock band, or disco-they also know some great ones if you need some help!
When the dance floor has emptied, the clock’s struck twelve, and you don’t want your magical night to end, why not extend your celebrations with an overnight escape to the couple’s hideaway? Granary Cottage is a two-bedroom cottage that Cathy lovingly refurbished and redesigned in 2021. Its interior now matches the classic yet contemporary style of the barn-and the barn is rather stylish!
In Granary Cottage, you’ll find a fitted kitchen, flagstone floor, wood-burning stove, two bedrooms with luxurious double beds, and a wet room stocked with The White Company products.
Furthermore, you won’t have to worry about linens, towels and cleaning -they will take care of that! The only decision you have to make is whether to stay in bed and admire the countryside views or get up, grab a coffee and go for a leisurely country walk while reminiscing about the incredible day you’ve just had.
Stratton Court Barn places food at the heart of every wedding celebration, focusing on locally sourced, seasonal, and sustainable produce.
Sustainability is at the core of who they are and what they do: The people, the business and the practices. So, with this in mind, they’ve searched high and low for the best local caterers North Oxfordshire and surrounding areas have to offer. The venue offers complete flexibility in choosing caterers, with six approved options ranging from informal Mexican fiestas to five-course fine dining experiences. Evening catering can include food trucks or pop-ups offering options such as wood-fired pizzas, BBQs, paella, and other late-night snacks.
The venue also boasts an outstanding selection of drinks, including local beers (including Hawkstone!), wines, spirits (including local gins Cotswolds and TOAD), handcrafted cocktails (with garnishes from the kitchen garden!) and delicious non-alcoholic options. For extra variety, pop-up bars or stations can be added.
Planning your drinks menu is a breeze; you can select the drinks you’d like to offer during your drinks reception, wedding breakfast, and toast. And when it’s time to hit the dance floor, a cash bar or a bar tab can keep the party going.
Stratton Court Barn is conveniently located near Bicester, a market town offering excellent train links to London and Birmingham. The venue is easily accessible by car, being only a short distance from the M40 and A34, making it a convenient location for guests travelling from various regions.
We got married in October 2019 and it was everything we could have wanted and more! We fell in love with the barn as soon as we went to go and see it for the first time and knew it was the place we wanted to get married. Karin and the team were so lovely and made us both feel at ease during the whole experience of planning the day with answering our questions and bringing the day together making it beautiful! I would highly recommend the venue for a wedding and will definitely consider booking the venue again for another event!
If you are reading reviews to decide whether to book here, please just book it before someone else does. This venue is absolutely stunning. There are so many different areas which are beautiful: the ceremony room, the stables, the rose garden, the lake. The organisation is amazing. We had Gemma as our wedding coordinator and couldn’t have asked for a better person. All of our guests commented on what a lovely place it was. Our chosen caterer (from a list of 6) was Lemon Zest, which was also amazing. You will not regret booking here!

We had our wedding here in November and we had so many compliments from our guests about both the stunning venue and the organisation of the day. Thank you so much to Karin and the team for all the advice with the planning and the work you put into making sure the day ran seamlessly. We had an amazing day and enjoyed every minute!
Where do I even start with this venue. It is just absolutely beautiful and secluded so it feels like you’re going on a holiday. And to top off this amazing, beautiful venue, the wedding coordinator that you get with the venue is Karin. She is amazing, organised and so knowledgeable. Karin helped my fairytale wedding come true. I cannot recommend this place and Karin enough. Thank you so much for our amazing day; it would not have happened without you!
It seems wild to say that our original venue going into liquidation was the best thing that ever happened for our wedding… but it truly was, as it led us to Stratton Court Barn and the wedding of our dreams.
We contacted the venue only four months before the wedding and received an incredibly prompt, caring response from Charlotte, offering to accommodate us despite it being last minute. This lovely initial response set the precedent for how our entire experience would go! We knew pretty much immediately that this venue was right for us – we have always dreamt of getting married outdoors, so Ferne Wood was perfect. The barn really captured our hearts and the fact we could have our dogs there just made it!
Charlotte and Gemma are absolutely astounding at what they do. Nothing was too much trouble; they supported and embraced our vision entirely, and we felt so much like they were invested in us as a couple and making our big day as perfect as possible after the hiccup we had had with our old venue. Every member of staff we encountered on the day was wonderful, and Charlotte was just a machine! From early morning when we arrived to late in the evening when she left, Charlotte was always on hand to coordinate suppliers, rejig timings due to weather (!), and answer any questions. Venue staff packed everything for us perfectly on the night, making the whole process so smooth.
Stratton Court Barn was the perfect venue, and we couldn’t be more thankful.
Married May 2024
We had our wedding celebrations at Stratton Court Barn on a very hot day in June 2019. Such a cliche but we really did have the best day of our lives – so far! The barn and courtyard were glorious and the use of the rose garden and wider grounds for photos were just gorgeous. Karin was there every step of the way and made such a massive contribution to the success of the day. We had so many great compliments from all our guests and we would highly recommend this magical venue and it’s amazing team.
After really struggling to find a wedding venue we loved, it only took us 15 minutes to decide that we wanted to celebrate our wedding at Stratton Court Barn. It is the perfect size for a slightly more intimate wedding (55-day guests) but still has loads of space and different areas if you have more guests. The barn is absolutely gorgeous, and the woods are so unique.
From the beginning, Karin was simply magical. She was there to answer any questions we had and guide us through the whole process. The open days were such fun and an amazing way to get excited for the big day. Our pre-wedding meeting was 2.5 hours long, and it showed Karin’s attention to detail. She gave guidance whenever needed, and it always felt like she would do everything in her power to deliver the day we hoped for.
On the day, Karin and her team were on top of everything. You could tell that their experience helped everything to run smoothly, we felt in such safe hands. Karin even drove us over to the woods so our outfits didn’t get ruined!
It’s nearly been a year since our wedding, and we wish we could do it all over again! Stratton Court Barn is a beautiful venue and all of the recommended suppliers that we dealt with were a joy to have as part of our team for our wedding.
Married May 2023
When my now husband and I started planning our wedding, we decided we wanted a relaxed venue where we and our guests would feel comfortable and have an amazing time. We also discussed getting married in or near Stratton Audley, as our first home was in the village. Stratton Court Barn fit the criteria, so we booked a visit. As soon as we arrived, it just felt right. Karin was so welcoming and helpful, and we reserved our date. During the planning phase, Karin and Jess were so friendly and helpful. They really know their stuff! Our wedding day was absolutely perfect, and a big part of that was the fact that Jess kept everything running so smoothly. We can’t thank the team at SCB enough for helping us to have a perfect day, and we would not hesitate to recommend them.
Married September 2023
We cannot thank Karin and team enough for the amazing day we had in August. It was absolutely everything I had hoped for and looked just like I had imagined. I really could not have planned it all without Karin’s guidance, so thank you once again.
From our first visit to the venue, we knew it would be perfect for our intimate wedding, and we were not disappointed! Throughout the whole process, nothing was too much trouble, and the staff were responsive to all of our queries. The day was absolutely perfect – our coordinator, Gemma, ensured everything ran smoothly, and we didn’t have to worry about anything. One of the reasons we chose this venue was for the woodland ceremony space, and luckily, the weather was kind to us, and we could go ahead with it – we had so many comments from guests about how magical the surroundings were. I can’t thank the team enough for making our wedding so amazing and memorable!
