Set within 250 acres of rolling parkland in the heart of the Chiltern Hills, Stonor Park offers space and privacy. At its centre stands Stonor House, a family home with more than 850 years of recorded history, its façade rising from open lawns and framed by woodland and far-reaching valley views.
Wrought-iron gates open onto a sweeping drive that carries guests through the estate; rolling lawns extend out from the house, framed by woodland and uninterrupted valley views. Deer graze across the estate, and established trees shape natural gathering points for drinks and photographs. The setting feels expansive yet composed, giving couples the freedom to use the grounds in a way that reflects their plans, whether that’s a structured reception on the main lawns or a more relaxed celebration in a quieter corner of the park.
The on-site Catholic church provides a dedicated space for couples wishing to marry within their faith. Seating up to 80 guests, it offers an intimate setting suited to close family and friends. Architectural details include high arches, stained-glass windows, historic pews, and a traditional altar, all contributing to a sense of continuity and tradition. The church has served generations of worshippers, and that history remains central to its character today.
Following the ceremony, guests can gather on the surrounding lawns before moving into the wider estate for the reception. The proximity of the church and parkland allows the day to flow naturally, without the need for additional travel between locations.
Receptions take place across the estate grounds, with flexibility to design a celebration around your priorities. The main lawns, with the façade of Stonor House as a backdrop, provide a strong architectural focal point for drinks, dining or a marquee reception.
For couples looking for elevation and privacy, Drovers’ Hill offers a self-contained event space positioned above the house, with wide views across the valley and towards the estate below. Its position creates a distinct sense of occasion while remaining closely connected to the wider grounds.
The scale of the parkland allows guest numbers and layouts to be considered carefully, whether you’re planning a formal seated dinner or a more relaxed gathering. The estate team works with couples to ensure the setting supports both the practicalities and the atmosphere of the day.
Drovers’ Hill is also home to two hand-built shepherds’ huts, offering on-site accommodation for the couple or selected guests. Positioned at the end of Drovers Lane, they provide privacy and immediate access to the surrounding landscape.
Each hut combines traditional materials with considered comforts, creating a comfortable place to stay at the close of the celebrations. Waking on the estate allows couples to extend the experience beyond the wedding day itself, with open views across the valley and the grounds just beyond the door.
Additional accommodation is available in nearby towns and villages, giving guests a range of options within a short drive of the estate.
Stonor Park operates as a flexible venue, allowing couples to appoint their chosen caterers and drinks suppliers in line with their plans. The open lawns and elevated spaces are well-suited to marquee receptions and outdoor drinks.
The setting lends itself to long-table dinners, relaxed canapé receptions or structured formal service, depending on the tone of the day. With no fixed in-house catering model, couples retain control over menus, service style and drinks selection.
This flexibility makes the estate particularly suited to design-led weddings where food and drink play a central role in shaping the atmosphere of the celebration.
As a long-standing family estate, the ongoing care of the land is central to how Stonor Park operates. The 250 acres of parkland and woodland are actively maintained, balancing heritage preservation with environmental responsibility. Mature trees, managed grassland and resident deer form part of the estate’s living landscape.
Stonor Park sits just five miles from Henley-on-Thames, a riverside market town known for the annual Henley Royal Regatta. Guests will find independent shops, restaurants and walks along the Thames, making it well-suited to a wedding weekend.
The village of Fawley lies around two miles from the estate, offering countryside footpaths and traditional village architecture.
Together, the estate and surrounding towns provide a balance of rural landscape and accessible amenities, giving guests plenty to explore before or after the celebration.
Stonor Park is approximately 40 miles west of London. By car, the journey from central London takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes via the M40, followed by local routes through Henley-on-Thames.
Henley-on-Thames railway station offers connections from London Paddington (via Twyford) and London Marylebone (via Reading and Twyford). From the station, the estate is approximately a 10-minute taxi journey.
