With an expansive entrance hall, elegant drawing room, well-stocked bar, and much more, your guests are invited to relish in the grandeur of Soughton Hall, treating it as your own private stately home for the duration of your special day. From mingling in the luxurious surroundings to exploring the picturesque grounds, every corner of the hall offers a sense of opulence and exclusivity, ensuring a truly memorable experience for you and your guests.
Soughton Hall is a Grade II* listed house, built in 1720 and remodelled in 1820 by its then incumbent, William John Bankes, who was an Egyptologist and friend of Lord Byron. Having travelled across North Africa and the Middle East, he was inspired by Islamic and Moorish designs he had seen. He commissioned Sir Charles Barry (who would later design the Houses of Parliament) to create a “showpiece” house.
From the opulent Drawing Room to the elegant Dining Room to the Secret Garden, their spaces are full of history, charm and character, providing a stunning backdrop for your occasion.
When dressed for a wedding, the spaces come to life; the canvas is yours to personalise. With the addition of linen, room dressing, and flowers, you can transform the space to make it uniquely yours.
All civil ceremonies at Soughton Hall would be booked through the Mold Registry Office.
The Garden Room offers picturesque views of the wooded gardens and seamlessly connects to the house via a glass walkway. This versatile space, which can accommodate up to 150 guests for a wedding breakfast and 220 for an evening reception, can be enjoyed in its natural beauty or personalised to your preferences. Complete with its own bar, dance floor, outdoor seating area, and outdoor kitchen, it provides a perfect setting for your celebration.
Soughton Hall has 16 individually decorated bedrooms, each designed with uncharted elegance. Contemporary yet full of charm and warmth, the bedrooms provide a cosy sanctuary for you and your guests. Whether preparing for your wedding or unwinding after the festivities, these carefully curated spaces promise comfort and style.
The beautifully renovated Lodge is just a stone’s throw from the Hall. It’s a perfect retreat for the night before the wedding, providing boutique accommodation for up to six people on the grounds.
At Soughton, their kitchens boast a rich history of culinary excellence spanning nearly three centuries, and the team are honoured to uphold this tradition to this day, taking great pride in sourcing fresh, local, and seasonal produce, the cornerstone of all their menus.
From elegant plated dinners to lavish buffet spreads and even delightful afternoon tea, they can offer various dining options to suit your preferences. Before your wedding day, they invite you to arrange a menu-tasting session to customise your menu. This personalised experience allows you to sample and select from a diverse range, ensuring that every dish reflects your taste and vision.
Situated in Northop, near Mold, this location offers easy access to a traditionally thriving market held every Wednesday and Saturday throughout the year. Mold’s High Street and Daniel Owen Square come alive with 70 stalls, offering locally sourced produce, including fresh fruit and vegetables, meats, cheeses, and clothing.
Nestled within a stone’s throw of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the area is surrounded by breathtaking countryside views. A variety of scenic walks and hikes are available, often complemented by a hearty meal at one of the many local pubs and restaurants.
There is complimentary parking on-site, and the venue also works closely with local taxi firms to help guests plan their journeys.
As a Grade II listed building, we are restricted in how we can modify the venue to make it accessible to wheelchair users. However, our beautiful Garden Room is located on the ground floor and would be perfect for your ceremony, wedding breakfast, and evening reception. We also have our Entrance Hall, Library, Bar, and two luxurious bedrooms on the ground level to ensure that you can enjoy as much of the venue's unique architecture as possible.
We can offer dry hire here at Soughton Hall. We pride ourselves on creating the perfect bespoke package for your day, so please contact one of our dedicated coordinators directly to discuss this.
We have a wide range of stock on site between our two bars. Should there be any additional beverages that you would like for your special day, we can explore sourcing this for your wedding.
We understand that music is an enormous part of our couple's wedding days! We're happy for you to have live music throughout your day and into your evening reception. We would ask that all live music ends at 10:30pm, with your DJ continuing the party until midnight. There is also the option of playing your favourite playlist in the residents' bar beyond the point of midnight!
Of course! What's a wedding day without the whole family? Your pets are welcome to join you for your ceremony and drinks reception.
We have complimentary car parking on site for you and your guests on the day.
You and your guests have exclusive use of all the grandeur Soughton Hall offers, making it your private, stately home for the duration of your special day.
