In the heart of Ayrshire’s rolling countryside, Rowallan Castle Estate offers an extraordinary backdrop for a wedding that feels both timeless and deeply personal. The estate spans 360 private acres and is approached by a grand, tree-lined drive, setting the tone for what awaits. Home to two castles-the grand 19th-century “Main” Castle and the atmospheric 12th-century “Old” Castle-this unique setting is rich in history, character, and understated elegance.
The “Main” Castle, designed by renowned architect Robert Lorimer, gazes down the 18th fairway, with sweeping views towards Ailsa Craig and the Isle of Arran. Grand interiors, graceful staircases, and light-filled reception spaces provide a sophisticated setting for both large-scale celebrations and intimate gatherings. Just a short walk away, the “Old” Castle, carefully restored and award-winning, offers original features and a palpable sense of history. The picturesque courtyard and 500-year-old “marriage tree” lend themselves beautifully to unforgettable wedding photography.
Around every corner, guests will find manicured gardens, dramatic vistas, and a championship golf course designed by Colin Montgomerie. The award-winning Glasshouse Restaurant completes the scene, offering another memorable space within this captivating estate.
Ceremonies at Rowallan Castle can be as grand or as intimate as you wish. There are several spaces, each with its own character, offering couples a choice to reflect their style and story.
Receptions at Rowallan Castle are designed to flow effortlessly, from champagne and canapés to dining, speeches, and dancing.
The festivities continue into the evening, with the option of a dedicated cocktail bar in the Library, offering 100 signature cocktails, and the ballroom transformed into a dancefloor for live music or a ceilidh. Late-night food options ensure the celebration carries on into the small hours.
The exclusive use of Rowallan Castle includes 11 en-suite bedrooms in the “Main” Castle, offering luxurious overnight stays for up to 21 guests. Each room has its own character, with tasteful interiors, tea and coffee facilities, bathrobes, and Arran Aromatics toiletries.
The “Old” Castle provides additional accommodation for 8 guests across 4 bedrooms, two of which are en-suite. These historic rooms feature wooden beams, original stone walls, and self-catering facilities, offering a stay that feels both comfortable and atmospheric.
Food and drink at Rowallan Castle are an essential part of the celebration, led by Head Chef David Grimley and his award-winning team. The focus is on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients presented with elegance and care.
Sustainability is woven into the fabric of Rowallan Castle Estate. From farm-to-table catering using seasonal, local produce to eco-friendly operational practices, care for the environment is evident throughout.
Couples can celebrate in style while respecting the natural beauty that surrounds them.

The day of our dreams!
When we booked Rowallan for our wedding, we never imagined just how perfect it would be. From the start of our journey with Katy and her team, they couldn’t do enough for us. Katy was always available for any request via email, and we had plenty of in-person meetings that put us at ease. The day before, we were able to get into the venue with our family to set up, and again Katy was on hand to help when it was needed. We booked out the Old Castle the night before for my bridal party and I would highly recommend. We also enjoyed dinner that night at The Glasshouse, and the team couldn’t be more attentive. Our wedding day couldn’t have gone smoother; there were no issues, and the place looked stunning. All of our guests commented on how incredible the venue, food and staff all were. We, the family and the bridal party, stayed in the rooms within the main castle, and each person commented on how stunning the rooms were, as well as being spotlessly clean! It really was the most perfect weekend, and that is all down to the professionalism of Katy and her team. I would highly recommend getting married at Rowallan!

The perfect fairy tale wedding.
Everything was just perfect: our vision was perfectly executed and nothing was too much trouble for Katy and the Rowallan Team! The ceremony was laid out exactly as we had asked, the day ran perfectly smoothly, the cocktails and food were incredible, the fireworks were perfectly liaised with the supplier without any time being spent on it by us, the rooms were ideal for a great night sleep, and we did not feel rushed to leave at all the next day. All of this gave us the fairy tale wedding we had dreamed of! The Rowallan team went above and beyond; they even accommodated a number of Bulgarian traditions (the country of origin of the bride), including accommodating traditional drinks to be provided to the guests. We have continued our special relationship with Rowallan since getting married, returning to have dinner at the Glasshouse on our anniversary every year.

The best day of our lives!
Rowallan Castle was the most stunning backdrop for our wedding! The most glamorous rooms for getting ready and for our family to spend the night. So many options for beautiful locations for your ceremony, and Katy was great for letting us wait until the last minute to decide what would be best based on good old Scottish weather. The food was delicious and our pictures are perfect!! We wish we could relive it all again!

An exceptional venue to host your wedding.
Rowallan Castle was a stunningly beautiful venue that far surpassed our hopes and dreams for our destination wedding. The grounds and facilities were breathtaking and the perfect backdrop for our special day. The staff was polite, professional, and delivered excellent service. Our meals were a 10 out of 10. I want to highlight our coordinator, Katy, for answering our one million questions over a nearly two-year planning process and taking such phenomenal care of us on our wedding day. Without her diligent work and attention to detail, it would not have been as special as it was. Thank you to every member of the Rowallan staff, and thank you, Katy, for a day we will never forget.

The most magical, warming and friendly venue.
Katy and the whole team at Rowallan were simply fantastic! From start to finish, they worked with us on every idea we had and added their own advice and experience so that we always felt like the day was in super safe hands. The venue itself is just absolutely wow! There is so much space, and beautiful light even through the day, with us getting married in mid-November. Everyone loved staying over in the rooms within the main castle; the whole experience is just unreal. The bridal suite in particular is absolutely gorgeous. Finally, the food is ridiculously good, and there are so many options to choose from, and a seasonal menu which is fantastic. Katy made sure our day ran smoothly and was there for every question we asked! We honestly couldn’t recommend this venue any more, and we had the best day of our lives!
Thank you, Katy and the whole team.
