Discover the timeless charm of Pimhill Barn – a beautifully restored 16th-century barn set amidst the rolling countryside just outside Shrewsbury. Steeped in history yet effortlessly versatile, Pimhill Barn blends rustic elegance with modern comfort. Its soaring oak beams, warm brickwork, and vaulted ceilings create a stunning backdrop for weddings and celebrations of every style – from boho chic to classic country. Surrounded by peaceful farmland, woodland and its very own dovecote, the venue offers a sense of seclusion and natural beauty, while flexible indoor and outdoor spaces let you bring your vision to life. Whether hosting an intimate gathering or a grand celebration under the stars, Pimhill Barn is the perfect canvas for an unforgettable day filled with charm, character, and all the countryside romance.
The venue is fully licensed to host legal weddings and civil partnerships, providing you with the ease of saying “I do” in one unforgettable location.
Choose from a variety of beautiful indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces – from the barn with its centuries-old beams and soft natural light, to the newly renovated ‘Moggy’, a smaller, more intimate barn which can seat around 120, to the tranquil courtyard or beneath the willow arch overlooking the pond and surrounding Shropshire countryside.
With flexibility, character, and a touch of rustic elegance, Pimhill Barn lets you create a ceremony that feels entirely your own.
The main barn comfortably seats up to 150 guests, or more with a marquee extension, giving you the freedom to design your dream celebration – from relaxed feasts to formal banquets. As the evening unfolds, guests can mingle in the courtyard or under the soft glow of festoon lights, while the barn provides a magical setting for speeches, music, and memories.
The venue offers a beautifully restored cottage set within the gardens of Lea Hall. This one-bedroom honeymoon suite offers a peaceful and romantic retreat, complete with private parking and just a stone’s throw from the barn – the perfect base for couples to relax and make their celebration truly their own over several days. Inside, a spacious open-plan living area provides a wonderful space for getting ready, with a cosy log burner, a mini Aga, and a sofa bed for additional guests. Thoughtfully furnished with Persian rugs, vintage touches, and carefully curated antiques, the cottage exudes warmth and character.
The owners plan to introduce more on-site accommodation in the coming months; however, the venue is conveniently located near several hotels and B&Bs.
At Pimhill Barn, you have complete freedom to create your perfect menu, which is why you’re welcome to choose your own caterers, from elegant fine dining to relaxed sharing feasts or street-food-style suppers.
There’s no corkage fee, so you can bring your favourite wines, craft beers, or signature cocktails to enjoy with your guests. Pimhill Barn offers complete flexibility to design a personal dining experience.
If you’d like a little guidance, they have a handpicked list of trusted local suppliers who know the barn beautifully and can help bring your vision to life.
Over the last few years, the barns have been equipped with several carbon-saving features, and the entire venue now operates entirely from solar panels, making it a sustainable choice.
The area is rich in character and natural beauty, with rolling farmland, ancient woodland, and picturesque villages to explore. Discover Shrewsbury’s independent shops, riverside walks, and Tudor architecture, or venture further afield to the dramatic landscapes of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For those extending their stay, there are plenty of welcoming country pubs, boutique hotels, and cosy cottages nearby.
Getting to Pimhill Barn is simple and stress-free. Despite its wonderfully secluded countryside setting, the barn is conveniently located just five miles north of Shrewsbury, with easy access from the A49 and A528, and within comfortable reach of the M54 and A5 for guests travelling from further afield. There’s ample on-site parking for guests, and nearby taxi and accommodation options make onward travel easy.
Thank you so much for all your help and support on our wedding day. We had the most special and amazing day, and all our guests absolutely adored the barn and kept saying how unique our wedding was!

Not only is Pimhill the most amazing building in the most beautiful setting, but we loved that the venue is a complete blank canvas to create the exact day we dreamed of!
The thing we really loved about the venue was having the whole site for the entire weekend of our wedding. We were able to set up on the Friday and then have breakfast on the Sunday morning after the wedding. The courthouse is absolutely stunning and tucked away out of sight at the venue. We used this space for the bride’s party on Friday night and then stayed there together on the night of our wedding. The house has everything you could possibly want or need.
The barn itself, inside, is breathtakingly beautiful and didn’t need much at all to dress it to perfection. The courtyard outside is extensive, and you could have any vendors you wanted to fill the space. We went for a tipi, a photo van and a crepe van, which looked amazing on the day! Our caterers described the kitchen as a dream and worked happily in there all day. The venue also had a spare room, which we used as a space for our older relatives to break away and have a hot drink! It really was perfect in every way!
The owners are so lovely and accommodating to your every need. They were also to hand if needed, but not at all intrusive! We had the most perfect day and would 100% recommend this venue to anyone!
