Setting
Nestled in the rolling hills of Somerset, Pennard House is a beautiful, family-owned Georgian manor house surrounded by walled gardens, wildflower meadows and cider orchards.
Whatever you want your day to be, Pennard House will make it happen. The epitome of dreamy elegance while remaining a warm country home, it’s the perfect setting for your romantic, rustic wedding.
Ceremony
Wake up and get ready in their bridal suite before tying the knot under blue skies or beautiful indoor spaces. Civil ceremonies can be held in the indoor Napier ceremony room, the outdoor Garden Pavilion, or the picturesque 14th-century village church just beyond the garden. The outdoor space and village church can accommodate 120 guests, while the indoor ceremony room seats up to 95 guests.
Reception
After your ceremony, enjoy a glass of champagne and canapƩs on the south-facing lawn, which has plenty of space for photographs and lawn games. Croquet, anyone?
Your celebrations would then move to the stunning 18th-century Coach House. Host your wedding breakfast amongst wooden beams and fairy lights, then dance the night away with friends and family in their unique party space, which features a custom-made dance floor, a bespoke bar, and candlelit, cosy seating booths.
Accommodation
When it’s time to say goodnight, you have complimentary use of their beautiful Orchard suite, and your loved ones can also stay nearby in their beautiful bedrooms or under the stars in 16ft luxury tipis in the garden.
The venue offers 13 spacious, beautifully decorated bedrooms with big beds and fluffy pillows. Choose from twin and double bedrooms and their grand bridal and groom suites, with separate staircases for those who want to keep traditions alive.
There are disabled facilities and access in the Coach House. The main house does not have these facilities.
Food & Drink
From gourmet canapƩs and beautiful three-course meals to fun-sharing platters and indulgent evening food to keep you dancing. Pennard will design a menu with you to perfectly complement your big day. Using fresh, seasonal, local ingredients, expect a memorable wedding menu that celebrates sustainability and taste in every course.
Sustainability
From its biomass boiler, which heats the entire house using wood from fallen trees on the estate, to sourcing delicious local produce to support local growers, Pennard does its best to be as sustainable and thoughtful as possible. They planted 5,000 trees to offset carbon emissions earlier this year and plan to plant a further 5,000 this year. They even use cleaning products from the Bower Collective, which are natural products in reusable packaging.
